SMU got antsy, and inked a backup option. They still want him, but they have to clear a scholarship and he's not willing to take the risk.

And if his story wasn't already sad enough... Since his brother was murdered on the eve of signing day, someone walked up and fatally shot his cousin in the head. And one of his best friend died in a gun fight with police.

Crazy situation for that kid. I hope he comes through all this okay.
