I am a fan of Vito, but these two quotes are freaking hilarious.

So, you think we can have the luxury of having a QB who can "drive the bus" in our OOC schedule? Really? May I remind you that we have won 5 games over the last 3 seasons.

Let's throw out Alabama. Against Troy, the team that we want to be in a conference that we should be better than, Tune led us to a 50-26 defeat. This is not meant to bash Nathan at all, but Vito's post reads like he has been drinking this PM.

If I were Tune's dad or Thompson's dad, I'd be on the phone daily with Dodge and Canales, campaigning for the other guy's son to get the job.

Starting QBs for our school can count on crippling injury, academic dysfunction, persona-non-grata status and two years worth of cold shoulder, exile to the special teams unit, or threats of position change used as a tool to push them out of their scholarship.

Being a starting QB for North Texas is not a growth industry. It's like being the extra guy on the away team in Star Trek or the drummer in Spinal Tap.

If I had a son, I'd feel safer seeing him grow up to clean whale tanks at Sea World than start at QB for the Mean Green.

Or he could transfer for legitimate reasons only to be labeled a quitter because we selfishly want him to provide our team with a game ready backup.

      McGill scored in the 2nd Quarter.

      The McGill non-TD was 50/50. With my green glasses on, the ball broke the goal line more or less as his knee hit. The problem was that they didn’t call it a TD and therefore harder to call the TD on replay when that close. The real problem is our inability to get TDs when in the redzone, particularly short yardage. Can’t run for one yard and it’s pathetic. Should never need to pass from the one yard line and if we do it should be some kind of play action misdirection to a block and release TE. The play calling in general was terrible this game. The decision making (on sides kick) was even worse. On a related note, the non-fumble and the PI call were ridiculous. I can sort-of, kind-of see the PI call because it was a bang bang play and refs are human, but the fumble was a fumble and they got it wrong live and on replay. The AD needs to file a protest to the league. That ref should be suspended.

      So was the radio play-by-play. Wish there was a video replay for me to see this. I also wish there was better checks-and-balances. In the NFL, can't a team submit a replay of a call to the NFL office for review, even if it doesn't mean a change in the final score? At least there would be some transparency and accountability. Based on the radio play by play, you would think that giving McGill the TD was a no-brainer, and the game might have ended up very differently. An option offense playing from behind is very different from one playing to keep a lead.. (granted, it was still early in our game)

      No moral victories

      We knew this 3-game stretch of Memphis, Tulane and Army would be tough. We lost by 8, 8 and 11 points. We are another year away (with better players and coaches).

      Fire the OC. The defense showed up.

      3 times within 15 yards and walking away with 0 points. There is nothing about that that is on the defense. Emmitt is right.
