More fatalities expected all in the name of Climate Change.

Fuel-Economy Rules Set EPA Climate-Change Standard

Automobile makers will likely meet the new standards by using existing technologies including more efficient engines, transmissions, aerodynamics and air conditioning systems, the EPA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. Hybrid vehicles, diesel engines and electric cars may also contribute to better fuel economy, the agencies said.

Existing technologies also means making vehicles lighter in order for them to reach the required standards. So with that said, keep in mind what the NHTSA told us last year.

Per the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration: Corporate Average Fuel Economy for MY 2011 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks,

for every reduction in mass of 100 lbs, which includes a .34 inch reduction in wheel track(length) and a 1.01 inch reduction in wheel base(width), that 828 more fatalities can be expected.

Price of repairs to damage done in 6mph and 3mph collisions.

Ford Focus: $691

Subaru Impreza: $1435

Saturn Astra: $1704

Toyota Corolla: $1852

Honda Civic: $2015

Toyota Prius: $2652

Without a SOW, it's difficult to get a true comparison of work performed in relation to cost.

Why don't we all just drive tanks then. My Nissan is just under the new MPG requirements. But when 2016 rolls around and I want a new one. I would like to think that there is enough technology to make the same model get better mileage. Lets not act like we will all have to drive around in smart cars.

Where will a family of 6 put the kids? In the trunk?

More government control over every aspect of our lives is just around the corner unless things change (see: midterms)

Families shouldn't have 6 kids (my opinion). You get what you get if you can't control that aspect of your life.

The midterms are not going to be the blood bath that you expect. Oh sure....the right will keep using fear to sway the ignorant, and they will win more seat, but it's not going to be the bloodletting that some of you think. The majority won in 2008, and they are still there in massive numbers.

Yep, maybe we should limit children to one per couple. Sound familiar?

Are you really willing to relinquish control of your life to the federal government? Hasn't worked too well for any people that have tried it.

The mid-terms will be an absolute bloodbath (as long as unemployment isnt under 7.5 percent by that time, which it won't be). You can't continue to drive an economy into the ground without repercussions.

I believe Pres. Obama is the repercussion. It's called an election. Pres. Obama was elected to fix the economy. He hasn't. If he doesn't by October, there will be a bloodbath.

It's the economy, stupid. (It's a quote, not aimed at you)

Obama isn't going to fix the economy, he's going to reform it like he wants to do with everything else.
