Morgan to transfer

Do'h! Typed so quickly that I wrote Ronnie instead of J'mison in the title of this thread. I had started to write Ronnie Morgan's son J'mison to transfer from UCLA but there wasn't enough space allotted.

The former 5 star center with University of North Texas connections wants to play closer to his Dallas home.

He never fit Howland's system at UCLA and now has a chance to reach his potential with a coach that knows how to utilize his abilities.

I hope he signs with North Texas.

If he's been dismissed from UCLA, would he have to sit out a year at his new school?

Yes

I think this would be great. Ok , he showed up and not ready to play @ UCLA , but this is possibly his last chance to play BB. It's like getting a pitcher on a 1 year contract in baseball. Also maybe Mr Morgan can stay in his ear and get him straight

I have no idea what Ronnie looks like , anyone know if he ever comes to UNT games or has in the past ?

The other Morgan thread was just a bunch of hot air since he was still enrolled at UCLA.

Now... let the speculation begin! This would be HUGE!

C'mon Johnny, you can do it.

That's true. Anyone who foresaw this scenario unfolding a year or two ago obviously really wasted their time.

I think we need to send a Green Man to visit the Morgan family and seal the deal. Preferably the other one.

Didn't mean that... I was just saying that while he was enrolled at UCLA, there was no real shot at getting him here. We could talk about it all we wanted, (remember when the Rhett Bomar scandal hit?) but there was a low % that it was going to happen.

Now that J'Mison is on the market, and stated that he wants to go to school close to home, we have a chance at landing him here.

How many Green Men are there?

60 percent of the time it works every time.

I've seen at least four throughout football and basketball season.

Help me here. As I recall, Ronnie Morgan came to NT after playing somewhere else first. Right ? Seems like he was only here for 2 years.

Yeah, I think he was only here his Sophmore and Junior years. Left to play overseas. Think it was Israel. Don't recall where he was his Freshman season.

Ronnie Morgan started for NT as a freshman that was the first year that NT played in the NCAA tournment. He played two more years and was not allowed to play his senior season reportedly because of health issues, high blood pressure. However, he did play internationally the next year. I do think NT did eveything they could to keep him playing, he missed a lot of games during his career because he could not pass physicals. He was a good player but NT could not take changes with his medical issues, apparently they did not have the same concerns then in international pro ball.
