As a followup to an earlier post, I wondered what our three point average was and how that stacked up against the rest of the conference. It was my contention that we simply are not a very good shooting team, but rather a team of slashers and mid-range jump shooters. Some argued with me, but I did find the stats (not including yesterday's game). Also, I'm aware that an inside presence can help outside shooting, but I've seen enough open missed shots to make me wonder. Well, here's how we stack up:

As a team (against the rest of the Sun Belt): 9th out of 11 teams with a percentage of 32.7% from 3pt. New Orleans was first w/39.5%

Individual rankings: Our best Lee Green is 10th in the conference with 43% from 3pt line. Our second best is Chris Davis at 49th in the conference shooting 28.7%. The leader in the conference shoots 48.3% from the line.

For what it's worth, those are the numbers so you be the judge.

CMJ, do get me wrong I didn't mean to infer that it was a mean spirited arguement, but more of a friendly discussion. One other interesting note after looking at the stats...Michael Degrate has the highest 3pt %, but he doesn't have enough attempts to be on the leaders board (he's around 50%).
