What A Night...

This a HUGE for UNT. This is bigger than the 2007 run, without a doubt. The press coverage we are receiving is tremendous. The fan turnout was spectacular. The atmospher after winning this thing makes me want to cry. A manly cry.

This will do so much for our university, and we have a team that can win in the first round next week.

I'm too choked up to say more... other than this... I will remember this night for the rest of my life and I am SO GLAD I made the trip.

The press coverage really is fantastic. Much better than the last time we went to the tourney, at least from what I remember. I hope we go to NOLA again for the first round. We were there last time and it really was so much fun, even with the loss. I'm so proud. I called all of my family who are TCU alums and faculty and bragged as much as I could. :)

I hope we get sent to Sacramento. I realize I'm alone in that. :D

You mean San Jose? They have a 3 v. 14 game. I'm hoping for Providence...and they have two 3 v. 14 games (the last 1 is in Jacksonville).

15 seed games are in OKC, New Orleans, Buffalo and the land of beer and brats.

So, sorry guys, but I'm not pulling for a game any closer to Denton than Jacksonville.

Player of the game was Odufawa. Dominant inside and was scoring when no one else was in the first half, plus huge block at the end.

Biggest contribution per minutes played - Alzee. Played big minutes and really contributed when Troy was making a run.

Clutch player - Josh White. Just like the Denver game, he stuggled pretty much all night from the floor but then hit big shots late that helped hold off Troy.

So very proud of these guys and so very happy for them. They played their hearts out and they willed this thing to happen. Each time they got down in the tournament someone stepped up to "make a play" that got the team back on track. I think George had a tremendous tournament, but so did Eric, Josh, and on and on and on to a man. Each player contributed and JJ was a master at setting his defenses and handling the timeouts and subs. Just a great time to watch the Mean Green and be a member of the great Mean Green nation.

It was great seeing all the green on TV last night and recognizing so many of the great UNT fans who were able to make the trip. I am 100% certain each who could make the trip will remember it for a lifetime. Simply wonderful.

It a GREAT DAY for the MEAN GREEN Nation. On to the NCAA's...well deserved...well EARNED!

GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

Also props to all the students and fans who were able to make the drive for the game. We watched the coverage on ESPN2 and were very impressed by the crowd size and sea of green.

I also have to admit that I love those black and green jerseys the boys were wearing last night. They looked really sharp!

Left early yesterday from Lewisville made it in time to grab a quick dinner and the game. Stayed for a beer or two after the game, then had to leave to make it to work by 9 am. It was a whirlwind trip, finally made it home by 4:00am. but like I said in another thread it's nothing a SBC Championship win couldn't cure. I am so happy I was able to make it to the final. What a game! What an atmosphere! I will never forget what those last 7 seconds felt like on the far end inbounds play, when Josh hit the FT, the last 2 seconds and the confetti cannons explosions. Really happy for our Team. Congrats to them and Good Luck in the tourney Men. You've made this NT Grad proud!
