Houston

@ WKU

The last big OOC game for the league this season. WKU showed alot with their demolition of Troy on Saturday. Houston is kinda struggling. This would be a nice W for the Belt. I am a bit hesitant to root too intensely for WKU tho - they are a very very scary team now that they are healthy.

A tangent to this topic - I have now seen on more than our of our conference mates websites us listed as the 5 seed under FAU(at 4). I really have no clue if this is correct, and if so how that makes sense given we have the H2H win.

The Sun Belt site is unclear whether or not the H2H tiebreaker works when there is only one meeting of the teams during the season. The next tiebreak on the list is the record vs. the #1 seed. If the H2H is not considered since we only played FAU once, FAU's win over arky state would currently put them above us.

I didn't see any tiebreakers for a 1 game deal either, I just assumed H2H would matter(I coulda sworn it did in previous years). Perhaps it doesn't and you're right. That'd suck for us.

Anyways, here are the league RPI's heading into WKU's game tonight. It's quite surprising to see 3 Western teams on top. WKU might pass Troy if they win tonight. Still thinking this is shaping up as a Belt 15 or 16 seed type of season unless there are quite a few upsets in league tourneys.

Wow, pretty lame call on AJ Slaughter with .2 seconds remaining gives Houston the win

Or not....I can't even describe the drama of the last 3 minutes, but basically a bogus foul was called on Slaughter...then he got a technical...Houston made 2 of the 4 FT, but on the last one a foul was called on the Cougars giving WKU the ball with .1 seconds left to try and get a tip in...it failed...Houston wins by 2.
