Optics. DB coach which you’d think is vital for running the 3-3-5 for an highly ranked (#1?) P5 team in Iowa St. And, I can also attribute that to the inexperience of EM assembling a coaching staff. That’s my take. -

2025 DC Wish List
I really think everyone is overthinking it. Find a defensive leaning high school head coach in the state of Texas near the I-35 & I-45 corridor. Bring him and another defensive coach from the high school level he respects most. Because defensive players we have need more one-on-one attention to just be decent. So the only way to increase that one-on-one time with limited practice time by NCAA rules is more coaching bodies. I also think that having coaches fresh from the high school ranks are better scouts for targeting talent that can be flipped from offense to defense.- 4
