Tale of Two Houses

House #1

A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern 'snow belt' area. It's in the South.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

House #2

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every 'green' feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.

The water (usually 67 degrees F) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville , Tennessee ;

It is the home of the 'Environmentalist' Al Gore.

HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford , Texas ; it is the

residence of the Ex-President of the United States , George W. Bush.

. . . an " inconvenient truth " !

Why even attempt to show the hypocrisy of some of the "man is going to destroy the Earth with his carbon footprint" loonies? As you know, all this "global warming" stuff is great "for the other person"...far be it from the ones actually campaigning for this failed theory to really DO anything about it in their own personal lives...what were you thinking?:lol:

Hello! Bush's presidency is over! Can we please stop talking about the past?

All you libs are the same...Bush this, Bush that. Get over it!

Think it was a "global warming guru" issue more than a Bush issue.

But, to be fair, since this information was publicly released in 2007, Al Gore has implemented certain energy saving devices, green energy sustitutes, and other improvements that made his mansion more evironmentally friendly. Of course, this only came after a very brief blurb, which was mainly put out by Fox News, about his residence.

It is the limo liberal credo "Do as I say. I don't have to, because my beliefs allow me an exception". You know, since I say I care, I am absolved of any responsibility to prove it.

--Unfortunately the bad economic times that he left us aren't in the past. Personally I would like to ignor that too..... but that gorilla is still in the corner of the room and the person that helped put him there will be discussed.

So the world energy prices jumped up by speculators and OPEC did not cause the world wide recession, but Bush did?

Every problem is some other person's fault, no matter how indirectly involved.

Looks like the American People are beginning to disagree with you and hold Pres. Obama accountable.

Keep swinging away, though.

"If we pass this stimulus, unemployment will not get above 8%!"

...but we shouldn't hold him accountable for his policies not working.

Strategery.

Someone needs to tell Obama that the unemployment number in my hometown hit 15% according to newspaper today.

Which methodology are you using to count job loss/gain? Depending on which and whose method used, that 15% could really be reported as 4%.
