Quoner...I'm serious...where did you see the consistency. I was at the game, as always, and I sure saw a bunch of turnovers and some really sloppy play. In addition, once again the team came out like it had rocks in it;'s pockets. If you mean a consistent slow start, OK. But, what consistency? I am not saying you didn't see it, I just want to know where you saw it? From George, maybe? Another double-double night I believe. Another good game from a good kid!

Haven't see the stats as yet, but how many turnovers did UNT have last night?

And, after all that, to win this game is big and a well deserved "hang in there until it clicks" win for the Mean Green. Needed it...earned it!

I never said consistency.

I may just have to give up on you! You are like a small child who must always be the wise-ass! OK...so tell me about the "consistancy" you saw...please...it was a legit question I thought, not a know or a jab.

The first post was the wise-ass remark (not my response to you), but it was just a head nod to a few people. I honestly had to follow the game via espn.com from work, so I can't speak to any details. I did have some exciting text message convos about Avery Johnson in the house and got wistful for the Sexytime! photo days.

I will also say that I think we're going to be in good shape if we can survive the next two road games and that beating a team with 2 SEC wins should be worth celebrating.

I'm really happy you caught that brilliant moment now immortalized in your signature.

Sometimes you just have to realize the warts, accept them, and move forward.

As much as I despise reverse engineering game thoughts from a box score when I didn't get to watch, but no one sees anything worth smiling about when:

We shoot 49%

Make 20-24 foul shots

Tramiel goes for 25/13

We outrebound them 42-24, with 19 offensive boards

Have all five starters in double digits

We didn't jack threes all night doing any of this

I agree about one one thing -- the turnovers are still too high, but shredding a team that hangs its hat on defense and making them play your game is a good thing, right?

Since I sit right behind the visitor bench, some of you may have missed where Ronnie Arrow really laid into some of his players. At one point he was yelling into the ear of one of his players. I think the guy has some anger management issues.

oh oh I bet we get to see some entitlement laden baby go crying to the AD now saying he has hearing loss because the coach laid into him and hurt is fragile ego, while mommy and daddy start writing letters to Yahoo and ESPN asking for an investigation.

Oh yeah nice win for the guys, but this team seems bi-polar. Losses to Boise, FIU, ULL yet beats USA and others.

Alzee told me before the game that he hurt his shoulder...not sure what is up with thomas...

anyways...great game tonight....biggest student crowd in recent memory...hopefully this makes them all come back

I had seen Alzee getting a shoulder injury worked on back before the UTA game... Sounds like a lingering thing. Thomas, could be something still bothering him with his thigh. Vito says they were both suspended, but only for one game.

I'm not going to lie... I was very worried when I heard they were on the bench and Matlock was playing first half minutes (more time on the floor than Mangrum and Spencer!). Given that this was the first game of the academic semester and how important the game/tough the opponent was... My immediate thought was that this had something to do with academics.

You may want to consider that ASU had no height, with the only guy over 6'5 in the starting lineup a 6'7 true freshman. I don't want to take anything away from the NT victory, but NT was a 7 point favorite and NT should have dominated the inside. Having say that I thought USA played pretty tough ball and was very good at driving to the basket. It was a good win for the team but I am not convinced NT has turned the corner yet.

You may want to consider switching the U and the A in your post :P

I never said we turned a corner or it's all roses from here. I just don't see the need to downplay this victory over what's been a very good conference opponent the last several years. The season is all about whipping things into shape for the tournament and making a run at the 3 seed now. This game showed signs of both things, so might as well enjoy it for a few days and hope they keep working on the things that need to be done for the tourney in the next week of practice.

No you did not say that, I did. Neither did I say downplay the victory. It was a home game that NT should have won and they did although they had their usual slow start. Too often NT has not won the games they should have this year, so in that sense it was a good solid win over a team that has traditionally owned NT. I do agree there were definitely positive signs that the team is improving. NT was able to exploit USA's rebounding weakness, never quit, and won a game without shooting particularly well from outside.

I guess I can't get the ASU losses off my mind.
