A good move for Stockstill. He's likely waiting on a bigger, better offer - especially having just seen Derek Dooley go from La Tech to Tennessee. He's now turned down two CUSA schools - Memphis and ECU - and interviewed for Big East/AQ school South Florida. I bet he'd have taken the USF job, had it been offered.

I could see Stockstill at NC State in 2011 if O'Brien keeps tanking the Wolfpack (three consecutive losing seasons). LSU fans are (amazingly) unhappy with Les Miles, and you wonder how short his leash is. Ralph Friedgen at Maryland is also on a short leash after losing seasons in two of the past three years, and four of the last six. His three consecutive 10 win seasons from 2001-2003 are now distant memories. And, at South Carolina, Spurrier could hang it up at any time. He's not setting the world on fire...and likes golf more than coaching these days anyway. He's not nearly as fiery as he was with Duke and Florida.

Of course, Colorado is the big job to watch in the Big 12. And, there are a couple of other that will likely open out west, Arizona State and Wahsington State. But, I don't see Stockstill leaving the South. He's played and coached there his entire career (high school: Fernandina Beach, Florida; college: Florida State; coaching: Bethune-Cookman, Central Florida, Clemson, South Carolina, MUTS). A good handful of ACC and SEC jobs are likely to be open after the 2010 season. And, if MUTS puts together another 9 or 10 win season, Stockstill will get some interviews there.

      I not sure about sisters, but they are both cut from the same cloth. @Censored by Laurie supports a young man that decided to take the law into his own hands by murdering a healthcare CEO in cold blood thus throwing his support behind murder as an option for dealing with those he disagrees with Funny how we know more about this assassin in 48 hours than we know about the kid that tried to assassinate a nominee for president five months ago.       Yep. The system can’t have it both ways. Either pay the kids a salary and let them pay for their schooling or stick with the scholarship system. Having hardworking students pay an “athletics fee” to support these programs while these athletes are getting a salary on top of all the benefits of their scholarship is system set up to fail.

      Is the Portal out of control?

      Because it is a bullshit system. I don’t need some kid running a podcast that gives him the attitude that he is all knowing to tell me that his opinion on the system is better than mine. It is what it is. I don’t like it. I see kids chasing dollars hoping to secure their future and probably forgoing their education. Do you really think Chandler Morris is worth the reported $1 million dollars Okie St is throwing at him? Do you think Ohio State’s $200 million payroll provided a solid return? It is not a sustainable system and is not being administered as intended. These collectives are paying kids a salary to just be on the team. It has nothing to do with marketing their likeness, their name or their image. It has turned our program into nothing more than a prep program for the P4 teams. We, UNT, spend time and money developing kids for what? For them to move along to the highest bidder and we get $0 in return. It is not a sustainable system. Why do “G5” donors want to throw money at these kids that have zero loyalty to us? What is the return? Hopefully 9 or 10 wins, a conference title and some BS bowl game only to watch our best players walk prior to the bowl game/playoffs? Sorry but the dialogue and “talking points” haven’t changed. It is nothing more than a game of greed. This is college sports with misplaced priorities that are ruining the game, in my humble opinion. That satisfy you?
