LOL, I guess Tuberville didn't learn his lesson.

What do you mean? He is hiring a spread coordinator to run his offense at a school that has run the spread for 10 years. So he didn't get along with Franklin or used him as a scapegoat or was not patient enough to allow the new system to take. One bad experience with one person obviously did not color his opinion of the school and other coaches there. This is as it should be.

I don't know that it was necessarily Tuberville's lack of patience that led to Franklin's dismissal. From my understanding, it was the alumni and boosters, more or less, forcing the change be made and, subsequently, leading to Tuberville's own "resignation" aka "being forced out". Here's a quote from an ESPN article that supports this perspective:

Tuberville insisted there were no personal conflicts that precipitated the change Wednesday after endorsing Franklin as his offensive coordinator just a day earlier.

"Tony and I have always gotten along well together," he said. "Basically it comes down to production.

I just find it odd that he would go back to the same place, and for the same position, that led to his eventual demise at Auburn.

I do not think this guy would have taken the job if Franklin had something really negative to say about Tuberville. Since Brown and Franklin worked together at Troy, I would think Brown probably gave Franklin a call. It was the alumni and admin that did not want the spread at Auburn. The Auburn people wanted results right then, they did not want to wait out the 4 year minimum it takes to install the spread offense at a Div. 1 school.

Fair enough. But was it TF who led to his demise?

I don't know how much hiring you do, but everyone makes a bad hire now and then. Often the person isn't bad, just a bad fit. That doesn't mean you won't take anyone else from the that person's university.
