Holy Crap! Please Say This Is True

Perhaps we can re-name him "Vlad the fat"...but, if he can remain healthy (and that IS a big question with this guy) he could be a big mid-lineup bat for the Rangers. But, when was the last time the Rangers had any real success in trying to buy their way to a "big bat" in the middle of the line up? At least the guy won't be called the "Ranger killer" any longer. I sure hope he stays healthy...loses a few pounds and helps the Rangers make the playoffs in 2010. Could happen...and perhaps there is indeed a tooth fairy! We can all hope so....

I thought you hated baseball. Where did this come from?

I have never said I hate baseball...I simply think professional baseball at the MLB level is extremely boring, and that baseball at any level takes way to long to complete a single game. Too much standing around doing nothing, etc. I played baseball (catcher) and it was the only sport I was ever even remotely decent at as a player...made a few all-star teams, but was never really THAT good. Had one scholarship bite...and that was to SMU. Yes, SMU once had a baseball team. Near the time to get really involved in the recruiting process, SMU dropped baseball. So, not too good, but enjoyed playing. Watching is like watching paint dry or close to it for me. Doesn't mean that I don't "lightly" follow MLB and the home town Rangers.

If UNT did get a baseball team (should get men's soccer back first...just had to get that in), I'd watch a few games and support the program because it is UNT....not because I loved baseball.

GO MEAN GREEN!

Ah, so you are a closet fan. And, for informative purposes only, there is no chance that NT gets men's soccer before baseball.

How does Title IX favor baseball over soccer?

Kram you are right Title IX actually favors Men's soccer. There are only 9.9 scholarships for Soccer. Almost two full less than the 11.78 scholarships that are required for baseball. Women's soccer has 14 scholarships. I thought it was the same for Men (You know gender equilty and all.)

Appreciate the reply...don't worry, baseball will be seen at UNT before men's soccer ever returns. Alas, it may not be the "right" thing, but it is probably the "thing" that happens. It's UNT, I'll support the decision and the program either way.
