I just received my latest issue of THE SPORTING NEWS. In it......they go conference by conference, naming an Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

They named Darius Carey the Sun Belt Conference FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR.

Proud of you, Darius.

It's the Dec. 21 issue.....Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera on the cover.

Great for Darius. I thought TD really underutilized Carey for most of the season, he should be a great asset for the next three years.

So being a starting WR, Wildcat Qb, punt returner, and kick returner wasn't quite enough for you?

He ended up 2nd on the team in catches and 3rd in all-purpose yards. I think they pretty consistently looked for ways to get him the ball. Don't forget he is a true freshman. His roles expanded as he gained the confidence of the coaches.

Great to see he got this national recognition. He is a special player. Plus his mom is pretty cool. If you hung out on the MGS chats, she was on a lot cheering on the team.

Thinking the same thing. When a player does not perform it seems many want to put the blame on T.D. - Fair enough. But it also seems that when a player does perform and gets recognized it's brings out comments like you replied to??????

If your going to hold T.D. accountable for the bad, shouldn't he also get credit for the good?
