Why is there going to be an opening in CUSA-West?

UNT is not in the expansion talk because there is no serious move that is going to open up a spot in CUSA West.

The SBC is a great place for us; its given us a D1 home, some football success, which has help growth the entire athletic department, including the new stadium.

CUSA is the next step, but their not expanding in Texas and we're not ready to make the move with a high school coach at the helm.

Agree....the grass always looks greener....etc. But for now the SB is good, has some good teams, of which we are not and has served us well. I think if we just work on old UNT...funding, stadium, fans, etc we are the size and in the market to move to a much better conf than CUSA...anyway, who wants to be in another watered down conf after 2-3 of the better programs pull out...hell, we are setting our sites too low and when we do, that is exactely what we will get....our problem for years has been.....drum roll....LACK OF COMMITMENT....this seems to be changing big time and in a few years we will see the rewards of this...right now we seem to have a failry agressive admin that is moving many things about UNT forward...this all needs to be sold at the president level now...our athletics are not at a point where it sells itself.
