On the back inside cover of the latest North Texan........there's a nice picture of George Odufuwa. He's shown helping a young girl read....and the page details George's own academic accomplishments. (ESPN The Magazine Academic All District--First Team).

Proud of you, George.

He will help this program even more so after he graduates. He is a good man, and I don't call someone a man a lot.

Agreed. I usually use man as my safe word.

That was a good picture of George and a good issue. I liked the quote from the City of Denton official that talked about the economic impact of UNT on the community. I'll try to locate it when I get home, but it was in the article "Power of Place" regarding the new buildings, etc... Actually found the quote in the online addition:

“UNT is an economic engine for the city,” says Linda Ratliff (’96), director of economic development for the city of Denton. “The university impacts Denton with the number of students, faculty and staff who spend money here. It’s the largest employer in the city. And it draws community members from the region to attend cultural and athletic events.”

Too bad the citizens don't support UNT better, because Denton would be a wide spot in the road without UNT and TWU.

George has been my favorite player for some time now...this makes me support him even more. Great player for UNT and great young man. Way to go George...UNT (and the country as a whole) need more young men and women like you. Keep up the good job.
