Mean Green Basketball Or Cowboys Football?

I would not expect a college basketball coach to be a football fan, and Coach Foy obviously not a Cowboys fan. I understand he handles the scheduling for the basketball program. Anyway, we have a couple of Sunday afternoon games and the first is this Sunday at 3 PM. The beloved Cowboys are hosting the Chargers and kickoff is at 3PM as well. Traffic is not usually a problem on Sunday afternoon coming up to Denton, and we are opening conference play against ULM. So, are you going to show your green colors and come to Denton to show your support for what is to be a championship season?

Coach Jones and the team will appreciate your support more than Jerry Jones will for supporting his team.

OK, but somebody should have caught this a lot sooner. It is crazy to go against the Cowboys, even the students will watch a Cowboys game, unfortunately. Move it to 7 or even 1. People could see most of the Cowboys game with a 1 PM start.

When the schedule was announced I know SUMG and I discussed it. Maybe it was in a PM exchange, but I know somebody else noticed. Frankly I have no idea why it couldn't be played at noon or whatever. My guess as to why it isn't scheduled at night, would be to give ULM enough time to travel home for school on Monday - but that's just a shot in the dark.

At first I thought they (the 13th and 20th games) might have been moved to be on the Sun Belt Network. But, apparently that isn't the case.

The game on the 20th......I'm glad that that one isn't on the Saturday night.....the 19th. Because, that week the Cowboys-Saints game is on that Saturday night.

I have no idea why any metroplex university would schedule opposite the Cowboys. It makes absolutely no sense. As for me, there is no contest; I will be at the NT game.

UNT is playing on Sunday on both 13th and 20th.

The Pit is being used for commencement on the 18th and 19th, forcing any home game that weekend to be on the 20th.

My bet would be that the Pit is also being used for some other UNT function on the 12th, hence any home game is pushed to the 13th.

Now why we couldn't trade dates with ULM and FIU (yes, we do play them twice) playing them at their place in Dec and at ours later in the year is a mystery.

For the life of me, I don't know why this conference has to start conference games so early. Seems to me, with 18 games.....they could all be fit into the last week of December and January and February. It makes no sense that we are playing conference games on Dec. 13 and 20......and then go back to OOC games on the 22nd and 28th. I blame the league...not NT.
