Gerhart, Colt and Ingram should be the 3 invited. I have no clue who you give it to after what's happened the last 2 weeks. If we wanted to DQ Colt for his performance tonight, we could easily DQ Ingram for his performance last week.

Give it to Gerhart. He could be the next Mike Alstott in the NFL. I miss that style of running.

Exactly. I cannot believe those who are not even mentioning the Nebraska DT Suh. He is far and away the most dominant player in the country this year.

Case Keenum from the University of Houston should be invited and probably should win, but since he didn't play for a AQ school it should go to Suh. I think the description of the Heisman Trophy has changed to read: "Presented to the best player on the best team from an automatic qualifying conference. The award is no longer based on their entire season of work, but on how they performed when it counted at the end of the year."

I think it would be great...and appropriate...to see Shu win the thing, but NO Chance this late...I do not think McCoy is OUT of the running, but Ingram sure stated his case Saturday against Florida...and given that no Alabama player has ever won the Heisman, well.......seems to be pretty well set up for Ingram.

There is a great ESPN Insider prediction up.

A couple points:

Stats do not matter as much as previous years, as their was no far-and-away mind boggling performance (my opinioon: Keenan fits that description but is not a finalist for reasons already said here).

If Colt gets it (and I think he will) it will be more like a "lifetime achievement" award than anything.

Tebow is pretty much done, since his fallout after the Kentucky game and loss to 'bama.

I wish the DE would win it, think McCoy will and Ingram would if this vote took place after the title game. But it does not. so whatever.

House of Spears is getting a shocking groundswell of support. Plus bitch-slapping the main guy ahead of you in front of a national audience tends to play well. It would really make me happy if he won it.

If not, he'll just have to enjoy playing on Sundays while Colt opens a snow cone stand with Chase Daniel, Graham Harrell, Reggie McNeal and Jason White.

I've seen him play 8 or 9 times over the years and he has been the best player on the field every single time.

You put him on our team and we win the Sunbelt, he is an instant defensive line.

      If I was Coach Hodge, I would have this blown up and posted in the locker room. I would tell the players that this is what people think of you and we need to go out and dominate every team defensively until people start putting some respect on our name. Then when people do start to put some respect on our name, we need to dominate teams some more to leave no doubt.

      I think this is a cop-out. He’s been doing this crap since the beginning of his tenure. The first memorable time was against Navy last year on the first drive of the game from the 1. If in the 5th game of year 1 he was already feeling like he needed to score every drive because of the defense, that's an even bigger problem. I think not having a reliable kicker or punter is the main problem. He went for the points a few times early this season and it didn't work out. Same with some punts that just don't do a good job at flipping the field. I've mentioned in other threads that special teams has also been a problem. Evans is 89th in the country in average punt yardage. We have to have a short kicker and a long kicker. Who the eff does that at this level? That's two coordinators that Morris flopped out on. I'm just waiting on us to move on from Svobada at season's end. Was looking over his profile and I didn't know but he also has Tight Ends this year. Where have the Tight Ends been lately??
