Couldn't the two of you have this little conversation via Twitter?

We need to consummate at least 3 online mediums to become legal in Vermont.

If you watch, it was a horrible spot, Im actually shocked that the refs moved the ball forward to where it should have been placed.

The Bama reference or a Florida reference is moot. Bama won the SEC and despite their weak OOC, The SEC is by far a stronger conference this year.

Boise plays whoever they can schedule. Yes they play in the WAC, The schedule the big boys in OOC when they can find someone to play them. Most BcS teams are now "kitty cats" and too chicken "s" to play them. They have shown year in and year out that they can beat ANYONE.

TCU plays in the MWC which is on the verge of being a BcS conference. They crushed Utah which is a very solid team and upset Bama (last year?) and crushed BYU who beat Oklahoma, which was still a decent team this year. And they pretty much crushed EVERY team they played.

Cincy won the Big East which is a BcS conference.

The ONLY reason TU is in the BcS championship is because they play in the Big 12, and by name, the Big 12 is a good conference. Truth is that the Big 12 sucks this year. If the Big 12 had any other decent teams this year, TU's true colors would have shown up and there is no way in hell they are undefeated. Are they the most deserving team, to be in the BcS Title game, no. Are they one of the 2 best teams, LOL, um no.

Nice show of class there. Of course I've come to expect nothing less of someone defending TU. No, the references to the 1988 game are helping to serve as reminders that the powers that be would rather die than allow, or even demand, that a game be called fairly. and equally. Also the hatred of TU, OK, SC, etc is beause of the douchebag fans. The type of fan who has ZERO allegiance to a school (didnt even take a one hour PE class), but claims the school as "their own" and has a wardrobe full of that teams colors, and will talk shit about another school because its not "their" school. They will actually assault fans of other schools (happened to me). People who claime to like that school because its from their own state and say that we should support them because that school represents the state, yet show NO respect for other schools in that state.

Example #1, someone who only has an associate's degree form Richland College, who has never even set foot on Tu's campus, walks around sporting TU crap with that retarded logo plastered on his truck, hates ATM, tells you that you should cheer for TU because they are from Texas and the only real college football team in the state (despite TCU being undefeated), and says thay support all Texas college teams, but had no clue that Houston was actually playing for the CUSA Championship yesterday.

Example #2, someone who managed only a semester at San Marcos, before dropping out because he couldnt hack it, hangs out with his buddies on Saturdays at a sports bar, wearing so much TU brown he looks like the damn band, tells his buddies, "Im a real fan, I TRY to make a game every year." He thinks he is more of a fan that someone from a "smaller" school" who will attend every home game of their alma mater and would gladly make a trip of 5 or more hours to watch them play, and sit through a 77-10 defeat.

Hope that clears it up for you a little.

You don't clear up anything for me.

You are right it was a horrible spot, and they got it RIGHT. That seems FAIR to me.

I was listing the opponents played records for the 0 loss teams... I didn't make a comment about Bama or Florida not deserving to be in the championship. Bama and Texas have the records and opponent won-loss that make a strong case they might be the best 2 in the nation. I realize Cincy no longer plays in C-USA, and they are still the weakest of all the undefeated teams IMO because they don't play defense.

You say, Oklahoma is "Still a decent team this year" which finished 4th in the Big 12 South, which, "Sucks this year". Do you realize how silly this sounds? Do you realize that you contradicted yourself? Do you realize that Texas beat everyone in the Big 12 South?

I know who exactly TCU beat and by how much - I went to more than one of their games this year. All of the fans I tailgated and went to the games with welcomed me with open arms to go to their games. They even made the comment, "since your team is doing so bad, why don't you become a bandwagon TCU fan?". I would hardly say Clemson and Air Force got "crushed". They got beat. TCU deserves to play someone other than Boise, and Boise deserves to play someone other than TCU. Yes the BCS schools are Chicken S to not want to play them.

However, a show of class would be realizing that even though you may hate the fans and everything about a particular school, they still deserve to be there. I would love for UNT to have "douchebag" fans that never went here, but cheer for us anyway. You forget that you are talking to a fan who traveled to see a 77-10 defeat from a school in a conference that, "sucks this year". So, spare me your war stories of asshole fans assaulting you, because everyone at this school has got more than a few from more than just one school.

It's obvious you and many others here hate Texas and can't take a step back and realize that it's no Texas led conspiracy they are where they are. You would think after all of this losing that our fans would be able to take a step back and look at things objectively without crying like little babies that the bullys took our soup, but it seems we haven't learned our lesson on what sportsmanship really means. Perhaps our fan base deserves a few more losing seasons. The football team sure as hell doesn't, and Texas' football team sure as hell doesn't deserve not to play for a national title along with 4 others. Place the blame not on Texas - place the blame on the BCS/NCAA R-Tards who think that another Boise St. vs TCU game is a good idea. Meanwhile a WEAK Cincy team is going to get stomped by Florida.

So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop crying about the "bigger schools" taking your cookies and start bitching to the NCAA and BCS about how they are ruining college football.

But you did mention Bama in your comment, and I was replying to it. Yeah, Cincy may be the weakest of the undefeateds, but I believe they would give Texas a run for their money. I dont know if they would beat Texas, but it would be a good game. I think Boise would have a legitimate shot to beat Texas. Im confident TCU would beat Texas, even though it would be a close game. I think TCU or Boise would play a very good game against Bama.

I said they were DECENT, but compared to how good they USUALLY are, they sucked. No contradiction there.

I dont hate the fans, I wouldnt wish harm on any of them. I just despise the douchery of ALOT of them. I dont hate everything about the school, I realize they have excellent academics. I just hate the douchery and the attitide many of them. Like I said, Just because someone roots for a school that they didnt attend doesnt make them a douchebag fan. Its their attitude that goes with it.

We're not saying its a Texas led conspiracy, if you would actually pay attention to the board, you would realize that we ARE saying its the bcs that is ruining college football. HOWEVER, its our disdain for the attitude of many fans that make us want to root against them.

No wonder you think every team has their share of douches, your probably one yourself.

Just for the record, I've never had someone wearing Nebraska gear come up to me, flip me off and tell me Texas sucks, and I was at the last game NT played in Lincoln.

I most certainly am. I went to TCU games wearing Green and cheering for TCU wins.

If you were a real NT fan, you'd hate the teams I hate and cheer for the teams I cheer for!

Back to the thread topic: NU Coach Pelini was irate at the end of game officiating....

"BCS!" Pelini said as he entered the locker room. "That's why they make that call!"

Geez, just sitting there staring back at the press corp you can tell how torqued BP was over the game. Too bad he can't say what he really wanted to say.

Pelini's hand gesture at the end of the game said it all - he knew what was going on....

I really think Colt McCoy was confused about the time left in the game. He mentioned in the after-game interview that he thought there was more time on the clock than 7 seconds (he was looking at the play clock instead of the game clock). UT is very lucky to be in the title game. But I'm glad they are - wouldn't want to see Cincy in that spot.

Didn't we beat Cincy in a bowl game this decade? <_<

The problem with saying Cincy passed TCU anyway is that you are not considering how the votes would have fallen if a new #2 had to be decided. Cincy still may have won, but a lot of people would have looked at the Pitt game and probably made the case for TCU #2 and Cincy #3.

But hey, we'll never know, so no big worries either way.

Seriously, stop it. Please? Same for everyone who agrees with this mess. If you allow douchebag fans to bother or bully you, it's your own damn fault. End of story.

I'd say you guys are missing it entirely. The single biggest goal of the BCS is to create the best (read---what would a vast majority of people want to watch?) matchups possible so that they can maximize TV revenues. It's not necessarily that the BCS looks to shut out the smaller schools....it's more that they just want to continue to GROW....make more money, year on year. Not unlike any other big business in today's world.
