I hope you dont renew your seaon tickets for next year. While you are at it, also delete yourself from this board with no more comments.

You have no understanding of what it takes to play, much less coach in an hostile environment that some people on this board are apparently setting up. You think that a coach that comes in here can just flip a switch and the team starts winning? Winning is not just physical it is mental. A team that has been beaten down and taken their licks the past few years with losing scholarships, athletes quitting and players going after coaches in the media is not going to suddenly walk onto the the field and start winning. You have no idea, none, about what it takes! I would rather have 5,000 screaming fans in the stands that are passionate about this program than 20,000 fans and 15,000 of them come and leave before the first half is over and then get on this board and trash the program.

So, to you and all of the other people on this board that thinks that Dodge should have been let go this year, I will ask that you not renew your season tickets, don't come on campus and burn all of your UNT gear. I don't need the negative talk, the team doesn't need it, nor the coaches. You're either on board 100% or not. For me there is no jumping on the band wagon when they win and jump off when they lose and wait to see what happens next.

If there is a hostile environment, it was set up by the athletic director by bringing back Coach Dodge. If you don't expect a hostile environment with 5 wins in 3 years, then you shouldn't be a college football coach. Grow up.

I also have no idea what it is like to make $275K a year. When you take a head coaching job at a D1A program, and then go 5-31, you should expect a lot more criticism than Coach Dodge has received. You should expect to be fired, and it was clear that Coach Dodge was well aware that this was a possibility, not because of some stupid message board, but because of his own performance as a head coach.

Go right ahead and Rah-Rah it up for the good old home school, but know this, by blindly supporting anything that the program does, you weaken the program. By blindly supporting 5-31, you are saying that this is the standard to which you hold this program. I hold it to a higher standard. I don't think 5-31 is good enough. I think the inability to solve basic coaching issues over 3 years is unacceptable. I don't think the minescule chance, proven through previous statistical data, of a turn around next year validates bringing this coach back.

I'll do whatever the hell I want to do with my season tickets and my money, because it's my money. After I calm down a bit and accept the 2 year delay that this decision will cause this program, I might decide to purchase season tickets again next year.

Or I may just decide to walk up an hour before kickoff on game day and purchase a $20 ticket on the 50 yard line... At the 4th largest university in Texas...

no it won't, but i like his idea....it makes sense. if someone is so disgusted with the decisions, then pack up and leave...adios....sayonara....later....goodbye...

The Truth of the matter I really enjoy going to the game with a group of my friends, we are all alumni, we tailgate, and have a pretty good day of it. When I talked all my buddies into this mess we had something like 10 seats in 2002, I kept campaigning my old buddies and we were winning in conference play by 2004 we had our group up to 24 seats full. The first year of Dodge we had 20 seats full, last year we had 16 seats but I bought the extra 4 and tried to keep them full. This year we are down to 7 I bought one extra to round out the 8 because of the predatory seat pricing they have in our section. Next year with Dodge coming back and no real changes to promote, I am not sure I won't be alone. The fun of the experience is draining out and I am out of excuses.

My cartoon represents the fun its been this year to watch home games and now the announcement that the staff remains untouched my buddies will be about this happy.

Did Corky Nelson give out a tiara for Drama Queen at the annual awards banquet back in the day?

Missed this. Winning is mental, no doubt. What about the last three Coach Dodge post game interviews inspired you to think that he had the mental mindset that this team would win. Did you hear those interviews? If not, go back and listen and then you tell me what message he sent to his team. Everything else you talk about is a head coaching issue.

Nice to know that you apparently know me, by the way.

My sentiments to a 'T'!! It's only a matter of time before Texas State applies for FBS Membership, and passes us by...like SMU has. Personally, Dodge better win at least six Games in Conference in '10. If not, this was a waste of time and money in bringing him back. And even more embarrassment to the University and their Alumni!

Yep, Weatherbe goes 6-6, kicks our rear by, what 24 points? and is fired. This at a school with far less resources but apparently far more commitment to winning.

This school has a small window to be relevant, and we just took a HUGE step backwards. We just showed everyone that, as a university, winning college football games is not a priority.

Jon, Mandy, I really feel for you. You guys have to try and sell priority seating to the new stadium when your employer has just told your product's consumers that they don't give a rats @#$ about the quality of the product you are trying to sell. Good Luck, you guys are going to need it in the days ahead.

We wonder why we can't get the attention of the 100,000 alumni in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. You know, those casual observers of their old school that don't give, don't return for games. Today is a perfect example of why these people divorce themselves from UNT. Why should they care? Really? Please give me any example.

Next Spring we will have the usual suspects on here predicting 9 wins, we will struggle to win 3 games, and we will have the usual suspects on this board arguing that Dodge needs more time.

Unbelievable.

I will wait and make an unemotional decision about season tickets next year, but I am leaning toward no.

I'm sorry, I can not agree with anyone who has sympathy for that person.

You don't want fans, you want lemmings. Follow blindly. Shell out your money for tickets and t-shirts and hats, but have no expectations. Take what you are given, and if what you are given stinks, tough. When what you are being SOLD is of poor quality, you should not ask for more, you should not demand better, you should simply continue to pay for it and keep your mouth shut.

And THIS is a hostile environment? Denton, America is hostile? Really? Well, welcome to your final resting place, Todd Dodge. Don't even consider the possibility of a place like Austin or College Station, because if THIS is hostile, he couldn't possibly deal with those fans.

Agree 100%

I am tired, really tired, of the I ARE A SUPER FANER THAN YOU!! that for some reasons seems to be rampant with NT fans.

Suffering for sufferings sake may be a staple of some self flagellating cults, but it shouldn't be part of being a college football fan.
