If SMU can step in, day 1, and win your conference... your conference is in disarray & is ripe for the taking. Now's the time to gamble like this for UNC. Kids today though are 'built different', and I really don't know how they're going to respond to a no-nonsense, hard-ass coach like Belichick. If he gets talented guys who are willing to work without coddling, the sky's the limit for UNC. If he's too hard on these kids, they'll bomb hard. -

Some college football head coaches struggle with the NIL and Portal era...and give it up
Even in an era where almost anything goes, I predict SMU is going to find a way to break a serious rule that actually gets enforced. Then it's another three decades in the wilderness and the grandchildren of today's SMU fans are posting on message boards in the 2050s vowing revenge. Also, FSU will still be suing the ACC to get out of the conference. -

To be clear, i don't think he's going to run the program into the ground... i just think it will be more of what UNC has been... a lot of 7-5, 8-4 type seasons. -

Ragsdale enters the portal……really? 4 games in 2 years and UNT probably paid tuition, room & board…plus medical care, pt rehab, all related out of pocket expenses…enough to get him on his feet so he could hobble over to the portal ! What suckers we are…. We wish him well, but one might wonder what team will want him….however, there are rumors that there is interest from Baylor…..Medical Center! University presidents, boards, athletic directors, conference execs need to unite and lobby for changes to insane portal and NIL policies…or G5 football will be toast!- 4
