Yeah I would love to see more UNT grads in the athletic department but there aren't enough students that take pride in their Mean Green sports, and many who don't even care about the name of the school on their degree.
As long as they are working their tails off and making progress, I am fine with being a stepping stone for a little bit. As long as there are plans in place and efforts being made to sustain and build off their progress once someone leaves.
I was going through my own personal scientifically-proven math yesterday, and can 100% confidently say with 33% confidence we will win 25 games this season.
(16 more games left, at minimum, assuming we will inexplicably lose 2 games somewhere along the way)
I love to do it.
It will take several consistent years at it to get some momentum and make a dent in the disengaged alumni bases in Houston, SA, Austin, etc. but we've got to start somewhere!
Meanwhile me and the guys that normally make these trips out of town are doing our part making the Pit a tough place to play. My vision is to keep graduating Maniacs coming back to the Pit, and fill our "Infantry sections" on the opposite baseline with more and more passionate young alumni.
