Is this what an “offensive genius” looks like?
The offense managed to score enough points to secure the win, but our defense still struggles to make a dent. We switched back to the 3-3-5 defense strategy and gradually allowed the opposing team to advance the ball down the field. Some of our defensive backs’ angles were particularly poor, especially Smith #36. He made several critical mistakes, including running full speed at the QB allowing the quarterback to escape in the backfield twice. If he had simply broken down, squared him up, and made the tackles, he could have prevented big important 3rd down plays. It’s as if we have forgotten the fundamental principles of football. Ward has dropped too many balls as of late too. Started with the Tech game and it hasn’t stopped. Failed to compete for that pass that was intercepted as well. Super frustrating. -
