For those who are so hell bent on Dodge being fired and bash him at every turn....

I know this is a "if" question, but if the program turns around next year will you stand to the side and say "sorry but I can not support this coach" or will you be jumping on the Dodge Band Wagon???

I suppose you could turn it around on all the sunshine pumpers too. What would it take to get people to think he's not gonna get the job done?

Most idioic post ever.

What you and a vocal few fail to comprhend time and again is that there are no bandwagon fans on this board. None. Only people who refuse to accept mediocrity and excuses. Only those who attend games, go to watching parties, take the time to keep up enough to know when things aren't right. Trust me, should Dodge turn it around we will all be here, happy as can be because we might actually gain a few true bandwagon fans. Save your premature (not to mention quite hopeful) "I told you so" for fans that HAVEN'T been here the whole time.

I know there were a number of fans who wanted to fire DD after every bowl game, even the win, because he had no won "enough" to make up for his first three years.

Stupid question. As for people bashing Dodge at every turn, what has the team accomplished that does not merit criticism? Surely you are not happy with the results he is getting.

Outstanding reply. 99% of the posters on this board want whoever is coaching our football team to win. How some mistake this is beyond me....maybe too new to the board to distinguish when a troll has come along?---which these days(win less and it's amazing how much less other school's hate is for you) is few and far between.

Look, that's what fan boards - and sports fans in general - DO. When your team sucks, you complain. You rip the coach. You dissect things. if we weren't doing that, I'd have big concerns.

You really think anyone who is ripping Dodge wouldn't be thrilled if he turns this thing around? REALLY? You can bag on the coach and still want the team to win, you know. Happens everywhere in the country every single day. I'm not a Todd Dodge fan, I'm a University of North Texas fan.

ANYONE who bothers to show up to a game, post on this board, whatever... is as good as a fan as anyone else. This Junior High BS has to stop. Good God, Boys, we're adults here! NO ONE cheers for UNT because it's easy. It's DAMN hard. It's a tradition of FECES. Almost any other school in FBS would be easier to obsess over... but we choose this one. STOP MEASURING FANDOM. DEAR GOD.

All aboard this big tent bandwagon. Please. I beg you. I'll take anyone.

      I believe we have had more games without classes in session. If someone has the academic calendar handy for this year and last, I can work up the exact numbers. Knowing we would have more games played during the academic break (and the horrible slate of games the AD put together) is exactly why it was critical for the AD to work extra hard getting the surrounding community to the games. I live too far away to know if they've done anything, but based on the results, I don't know if they have...certainly nothing that's moved the needle. It's like they just take time off when students aren't around. We need the so-called t-shirt fans from in and around Denton. What has the AD done to generate excitement and stimulate demand for the program? Whatever it is, it's been a complete failure IMHO. We have a team and program on the rise. It's WINNING games on a regular basis. Based on the last few years, we had a lot of momentum going into this season and it's been squandered in epic fashion. I doubt they are doing anything and just running out the clock waiting for the students to return so they can continue to do nothing. Here's an idea...It seems Jared enjoys his court-side seat. How about running a "switch seats with the AD" promotion? Each half one lucky attendee is drawn and gets to sit court-side and Jared moves to the cheap seats. Who knows, maybe you only get a handful of extra tickets out of it, but we're moving in the wrong direction.

      We have the volume, just nobody cultivating those relationships. Seems Denton proper feels little to no ownership in the university even though it's a large driver of the local economy. As @UNTLiferccommented, things like the homecoming parade have disappeared. They've made every move necessary to make the school and the city separate entities.

      I'm not pissing on anyone, but maybe Nelson, who was a 5 star coming out of high school, was overrated. He's just looking for playing time, which I can certainly appreciate, but UTEP is heralding his signing as being the best in their history. I'm saying is there is a reason he didn't stick at previous places and was probably doesn't have that high of a rating now.

      Should we add Texas State to the AAC?

      Those qualities may be fine for us, but nor for ECU or Charlotte or USF, etc. There is no way they want another Texas school in the AAC. They would rather have Ga State, or Jax St., or James Madison, or App St, or WKU. Also, a 16-18 team conference gets too big. It needs to stay 12-14 football/basketball members at most.
