SR Wr Alejandro "Ali" Villanueva, 6-10, 283, is Army's go to man when in passing downs.

Ali has 24 catches, for 383yds and 5 TD's so far this season. 21 of his 24 catches made 1st downs. 16yd avg/catch

Army considered 11/14 for 174yds a very good passing day vs VMI. Ali caught 7 for 119, with 1 TD catch.

Army as a team has 5 passing TD's- all to Ali- from freshman QB Trent Steelman, 6-0,185. Steelman is their second leading rusher, 168/690, 55.8 p/gm avg, long of 42yds/TD.

RB Patrick Mealy, 5-8, 203 is the leading rusher, 88/606, 59yds p/gm, long 75yds/TD

RB Kingsley Ehie, is 3rd, 100/434, 42yds p/gm avg, long of 42yds/TD.

Rushing, Army p/gm avg, 213yds, opponents, 142yds --- Wait until Army sees Dunbar!

Passing, Army, p/gm avg 69, opponents 154 --- I like this stat

Army red zone TD scoring, 14/30 (47%) opponents 29/30 (97%) --- I like this stat!

Army's OL is alot smaller that NT's OL. Army's biggest OL guy is LT Aneez Menzi 6-3, 283. RT Jason Johnson,

6-3, 257, center Zack Peterson, 6-1, 267, RG Seth Reed, 6-1,275, LG Fritz Bentler, 6-3, 248. Very quick-very

good blocking techniques (alot of chop blocks)

Army's DL, DT Victor Ugenyi, 6-3, 262, DT Mike Garu, 6-2, 275. DE's Josh McNary, 6-1, 225, has 56 solo tackles.

LB's- leading tackler, Stephen Anderson, 83 solos- is injured-done for the year. LB LB Andrew Rodriques, 6-3, 210, has 63, DB Travis Donavan, 6-1,190 has 68, LB Steven Erizinger, 6-1, 215 has 54.

VMI, a FCS team, rushed for 335yds last week in a 22-17 loss to Army. VMI is a run team, only 6 passes for 19yds.

2 VMI backs had over 100yds each in the game. Army had 360 total yds on VMI, with a 17yd TD run in the final

minutes to seal the win.

Army schedule-

W vs Eastern Mich, 27-14

L vs Duke, 19-35

W vs Ball St 24-17

L vs Iowa St 10-31

L vs Tulane 16-17

W vs Vandy 16-13 (OT game)

L vs Temple 13-27

L vs Rutgers 16-27

L vs Air Force 7-35

W vs VMI 22-17

I believe NT will score alot of points, and win this game. Riley, Dunbar, Jackson, Carey will have big offensive

numbers. Defense stacks the Army OL, Cook and Smith cover Ali. Jackson will break a KO for a TD!

Army's offense is the mid-line option. Their offensive linement do not have to knock people off the ball - they just have to screen the defensive linemen and linebackers so their backs can run past. It is a good offensive and will be fun to watch......if you like option style football.

All factors aside, no team has totally dominated Army. Maybe make a case with AF, but honestly I think the score will reflect the numbers above for UNT.

VMI's rushing yards were a direct result of LB Stephen Anderson suffering a season-ending injury against Air Force. His replacements too the wrong angle on several runs including runs of 30, 44, and 68 yards. As long as you guys don't suddenly decide to run the triple option, those particular plays won't happen this week. (Your plays of 30, 44, and 68 yards will come via the pass. :D )

Also, while our offense has been inconsistent all year, the VMI game was the ugliest outing of the year by far.

One more thing -- your inability to hold a lead is matched, if not exceeded, by our inability to play after halftime.

Hey, are we talking defense-free football? I enjoyed that when Navy played here two years ago, except for the part where they won.

They'll be some defense in the first half. On the season, we've won the first half 86-78 but lost the 3rd Q 51-26 and lost the 4th Q ( plus OT ) 104-52.

So, BeatNavy, will you be there in Denton?

No, family travel budget eaten up by recent trip to NYC plus upcoming Thanksgiving & Christmas...

...plus my "birthday present" trip to my wife's HS reunion back in October.

Just a minor correction... Vandy was an Army ""W"
