We were out doing some aerials of some commercial properties around town and I snagged some video of our beloved fouts field:

I am throughly excited about the new stadium but have had some GREAT TIMES at Fouts over the years.

Also some aerials of the university:

Your bolded statement sums up my feelings perfectly. Won't miss that track at all, and wouldn't mind it if someone took this footage and put in a claymation Godzilla stomping it to the ground. But, for better and worse, there's been some great memories there. Thanks for posting this.

Well done...this is the irrefutable proof of the "closer the grosser" theory. The durn thing don't look half bad from the distance.

Have a feeling Fouts will look a lot better at closing time also.

I notice the parking lot looks great when it is full.

That is just amazing to see how far the stands are from the field - the aerial shots really show that.

Will be great to see the aerial shots of the Fouts Field demolition in 2011 :D

I thought Fouts was going to stick around a while after the new stadium opens, at least until we get a new track and field facility built.

You are correct sir....Master Plan does call for a new track facility, but won't be until 2015 by my best guess...Thats means at least 4 or 5 more yrs of Fouts lingering on...

If we are being "green" in the environmental sense, why not recycle the bleachers and seats at fouts? I'm being serious here. Seriously. :D

Would it save any $$$?

rv said it was less expensive to sell the old and buy new rather than recut and refit the old

The track almost looks like a muddy moat, like it's there to protect the field from the fans in the stands.

I'm glad I at least got to experience Fouts in my years attending UNT (in my final year), I just wish I could have had some of those good times that you all speak of.
