What Statistic Matters More, Than The Fact

I've already posted in a couple of the post game threads, many of which seemed to have originated or been "jacked" in a generally negative way. I think one thing should be pointed out; we won two games, and 4 games earlier in the season than the first year a Dodge team won two. And I really wonder why noone has tried to be a little more analytical about why that we won in the way that we did, possible injuries, the difficulties of staying positive after weeks of losing, 3 times by a touchdown or less in the fourth quarter. Did people really feel better about a defense that when it had better statistics but couldn't hold anyone in the fourth quarter?

I think part of it may have been that WKU is widely considered so bad; still, they were desperate for a win. Why take anyone for granted. We've beaten them 3 times out of 3, but the first two times, I think it came down to the final play, not the final quarter. Yes, we looked better in other games, but the fact is, we were 1-6; whether or not the personnel changes on defense were mostly due to injuries, I would fault the coaching staff more for staying with the same course.

I think it might be useful to click on the following link and scroll down to the next to last paragraph, where Austin Miles talks about attitude. I think a lot of us could question ourselves as to whether we are "among a positive group of people", and what part we individually play in that.

Austin Miles on being around positive people.

I am just going to assume that you meant Miles Austin.
