Here's a quote from Jeff Latzke writing for the AP in an article about Sam Bradford leaving OU; "OU has never produced a starting NFL QB". I find that pretty interesting given all the excellent years of football OU has produced. "Never" is a really long time. However, Bradford, if completely healed, may just change that "never" to "has one now".

What say you?

What QB out of the Big 12 has ever really been worth two craps in the league? All the junk offenses and bubble screens in the world don't really seem to help much, do they?

But I think Bradford is the best hope for NFL success that conference has had so far -- although if Jerrod Johnson ever got to play with an offensive line not made of bubble gum and teenage girls, he could do some damage.

He was a Bruin but he began his college career at OU and transferred to get playing time. He broke his ankle playing his freshman year and lost his starting job when they won the national title playing the wishbone with another QB.

Yep, that's why he is not considered an OU QB.

That's what happens when you run the wishbone for much of your football existence. It's not really fair to analyze OU QB's in the pros until Post-Heupel.. which is also the name of my next album.

p.s.: Still not giving up the dream of the Nate Hybl NFL explosion - because I f'n HATE vowels.
