ESPN EVALUTION

Brown is a wing player with excellent length. He must add strength but plays with effort and passion the entire time he is on the floor. Brown is an average to good athlete with matching athletic ability. He scores mostly with mid range pull up jumpers. He can attack both ways with one or two dribbles and does a good job using his length not elevation to shoot over smaller defenders. Brown also showed a turn shot from the left block in the post. He must be more consistent but can make an open three with time and space when his feet are set or when he is in rhythm. Brown is a decent ball handler and passer in the flow of the game. Brown displayed a good basketball IQ as well. He repeatedly did a good job of reading dribble penetration and moving not only to the open area but in the vision of the passer to receive the ball. He is a good area rebounder as well. An area of improvement should include scoring moves off the dribble in order to get deep into the lane and finish at the rim in transition or from the wing. He has the ability to be a good position defender (Small Forward) because of his length although high school team played mostly zone. Brown seems to do most everything average to good but no skill separates him and puts his game at high level yet. Brown's improvement over the summer and his senior year will determine his final recruiting level.
