Really tough break not just for UNT but for Tobe. He has been thru alot while here at NT and I hate to see his career end this way. We're all proud of how you've grown up over the years Tobe.

I think I can speak for most of us here in saying, "thanks for the memories"! I'm hoping Tobe will still get a shot at the pros.

So a guy who can force turnovers is out for the year and a guy who will turn it over is....well, we all know the rest.

I am more worried about the guy that is going to replace Tobe, not our STARTING QB, I am sure he will do just fine.

Riley being back should ensure our first home victory in almost 2 years. He will really open up the running game. Dunbar could go for well over 200 on Saturday.

That is a really good point. Riley is very deceptive with his handoffs running this offense. It definately helps the backs get extra yardage.

Our defense scares the hell out of me right now......again.

Losing Tobe is a big blow! He plays with passion and I sincerely hope that the medics can get him back to 100% for his future. My hat is off to you, Tobe.

I have mixed emotions about Riley coming back this week. Another week of rest and rehab would make him more effective in a tougher game later. I'm really concerned that another injury will finish him for the year, and we know that WKY is not adverse to chippy play.

Always great to see how you can find something negative to say about every topic. At least you are consistent. Come on, Emmitt, I know you love UNT football and UNT. Could you remember that the thread is about the loss of Tobe to the team? The kid plays with heart and grit and will certainly be missed. It gives another guy a chance to step up and be UNT's next Tobe. Let's see what the "next guy" can do. If you want to knock TD or Riley, start another one of the many similar threads. In the meantime, Tobe...you will be missed. Thanks for all you have done over the years. Thanks for the memories...great job! And, all the best of luck to you. I look forward to seeing you play at the next level!

Foot injury? I wonder if Tobe's foot injury is related to the muts game, where a muts player stomped on his foot?

Tobe, you are a great football player! Get the surgery over and complete the rehab work!

      I don’t think Mack Brown’s the answer here either, but let’s not pretend McCarney is anywhere near Brown in terms of head coaching success. Brown would be a huge upgrade.

      The Band

      Our oldest is in the Oklahoma State band. They seem to focus on the entertainment more than anything else. The last halftime show had them playing “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC. Their pregame is just the fight song, Oklahoma, and a stand tune. Then they wait around while special guests lead the in game chants. In game playing is fun. They play iron man, dies irae, stuff like that. They play off the DJ better than we do. There’s usually no playing over eachother, though it does happen. The quality is fine. They have a new director. Last years quality was lacking.

      MAC BROWN

      Kicking has been bad, punting is average at best, and we allowed the onside kick against UTSA. Those are my main complaints. There's only about 25 teams (quick count) that have allowed a kickoff return for a TD and we're one of them. Special teams certainly wasn't a weapon this year which to me means it has the potential to be a problem. Regarding Morris being aggressive because the defense is bad, I just disagree. I'll refer to the Navy game last year going for it on 4th and goal on the first drive. It was game 5 of his tenure. He did it again on the first drive against Memphis last year. Two games we lost by 3 where he passed up the field goal attempt on the first drive of the game all within his first 7 games. If he didn't trust the defense that much 7 games in to his coaching career here but yet kept Caponi for year 2, that's a fireable offense on his own. Now to EM acting as an OC and not HC, this is his 6th year as a division 1 head coach. Are we really making this excuse for him? Honestly all of this makes me wish he'd get an OC job somewhere and leave.
