We Should All Leave Dodge Alone

As has been pointed out so often on this board, and in an argument so cogent it is beyond reproach, we have never coached a football team so we shouldn't complain. How can you argue with air tight logic such as this?

So, the next time you take your family out to dinner and the service is slow, your order is wrong, the food is cold and there are clear health code violations don't get angry. In fact make sure you tip well. Why? Because unless you have ever owned a restaurant you really have no room to complain.

And the next time your car gets a flat tire and the mechanic removes the engine, cuts the brake lines and returns it to you with the tire still flat, plus a hefty bill, don't ask any questions. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A MECHANIC? WELL...HAVE YOU???? HAVE YOU???

There is sooooo much unintentional humor here.

Emmitt, your post made me laugh out loud not only because it is funny but there is a lot truth in what you said.

Pretty good analogy.....kinda. Based on the same logic...we must go a little further down the road. We (UNT lovers) are working at a restaurant that only serves baloney sandwiches. Our emplyees can only make and serve baloney sanwiches for the most part, but came here to try to do better. And it seems at times, the only employees we can hire at our restaurant are the baloney enthusiasts; When what we really need are a few Steak and lobster chefs, Dom Perignon waiters, and a few fancy Butlers to light the ever so hoity-toity cigar. Most of those employees would rather ride the PRESTIGEOUS time clock at Steak restaurants as lowly yard lizards and busboys than come with us a try to make the greatest baloney sandwiches ever. That being said, our CEO cant find THE MILLION DOLLAR CHEF who would ever WANT to come to our tiny little Baloney shop....for the baloney money !! SO, if we fire the chef we have, the next chef has the same problem...and so does the CEO......we just dont serve steak here yet. But our tiny little bistro is being remodeled and we aint gonna be ridin' the Baloney Pony much longer !!! or we're goin out of business.... Just sayin.

I live according to a John Gotti quote, "I don't have great needs, I like a good sandwich".

I bet that mechanic and all his mechanic friends are just too young to know how to correctly change a flat tire. He's also probably working without all his own tools , that damn mechanic before him probably f'd everything up !

Best post of the year--no better analogy of what UNT is, why we are who we are, and what happens if we don't figure out a way to build something.

Fried Bologna...now you are talking. Did you know that Sweetwater in Denton makes a great fried bologna sandwich? Yummmmmmmmmm. Goes great with a pitcher of good cold beer and a cup of chili. Just can't get much better than that!
