it will be interesting to see what seating size stadium is presented from unt to the board in the proposal to be built. yes, size does matter when you are at the bottom of the food chain looking to move up someday. more than one win per season would greatly help too!

probably been covered before but what the hell...

Would you rather stay in Fout's if UNT were to build only a 25K capacity stadium?

In short: No.

why did unt build fouts with 20,000 seats in 1952 when it only had 4500 students? old eagle stadium would have been fine for that size school. think more forward.

So what is your answer?

So what is your answer?

staying in fouts is not possible because of numerous issues including highway expansion. the locked in figure for the new place is not seats but money financed. how many seats will 78 mil buy? depends on the kind of seats and the perks you want with them. all i am saying is bottom line for seats needs to be 30k then start spending on the perks not other way around.

Passage is the right thing for the people of Texas. The North Texas region, being so important to the rest of the state, needs a major public university. The stadium and a successful football program are important parts of making UNT a major university.

Article about stadium vote.

"The state board’s staff has already recommended the project be approved, said De Juana Lozada, assistant director of communications at the coordinating board."

"Several residents who live near the proposed football stadium site — on the west side of Interstate 35E and Bonnie Brae Street — wrote letters to members of the coordinating board in hopes of swaying their decision, said John Weber, president of the Denia Area Community Group." SHUT UP AND PLAY

"Although members of the Denia Area Community Group will not be able to speak at the meeting, a handful plan to drive to Austin to attend the proceeding, he said."

“It is never a rubber-stamp process,” Escalante said. “The board has a responsibility to review each project and they have to approve it.”

Why is this News for North Texas?

In recruiting, there was a little movement today. Trevor Murphy, an offensive lineman from Jefferson, committed to Colorado State. UNT, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State, UTEP and Stephen F. Austin also offered the three-star prospect. CSU has snagged two linemen UNT offered in the last week or so. Mason Myers of Southmoore, Okla., also committed to the Rams.

The digs at this program by this newspaper continue to pile up.

Rick

It's news for North Texas because we offered a ship to those players. Rick, surely you haven't joined the paranoid "Brett-Vito-is-out-to-get-us" crowd. Considering the debaucle that is this season has become SO FAR, I find his coverage rather......humane.
