The Kind Of Thing I'd Really Like To See Our Team Try

It seems really disheartening (to me anyway) to see the special teams problems we've had in the last couple of weeks. Hey, not trying to point fingers at any particular person, since it takes a lot of different personnel to make a kicking game work, and honestly, a lot of teams have been getting kicks blocked this year. Granted, Cody is a man mountain out there, as our guys found out in Tuscaloosa, but don't we have someone on the team who is listed as 6'6" or more (don't remember who off hand). I'd just like to see something tried like putting someone really tall in there and have THE MEAN GREEN block a kick (I do appreciate what Eddrick Gilmore has done, but we need more of this). And while I'm at it, why aren't we experimenting with using Shavod Atkinsson(sp?) on short yardage plays. I know, they'll know what they're up to, but at some point a team has to do something everyone knows they're going to try, and make it work anyway. Just a little creative use of personnel, that's all I'm suggesting. What is it the University of Richmond (a FCS school, I know) calls what is done on special teams at time, a "Despo" squad?
