I am going with a friend that is a TCU fan. I will be pulling for the Frogs, because they have a chance to be a BCS buster, if the situation was reversed, I would pull for Southern Methodist. It would be great for the Metroplex, if Dallas, Ft Worth, and Denton, had good football teams that drew well. Don't you people at least agree with that?

Yes. I agree that if tcu and NT have good teams it is good for the metroplex.

I know a few Frog fans with season tickets, but our kiddoes have been down with the flu. So, we'll be chilling out at home this weekend. It's fun to hit TCU games every couple of years.

We'll definitely head over to Forth Worth for the Frog game against Utah on November 14th. That'll likely be the Mountain West Conference title showdown, and UNT will be at Florida International that weekend in Miami. I'll have George and Hank in my ear and the Frogs and Utes in my eyes.

It really is cool to have three college football teams in the area. I just wish that we could somehow gin up another series with the Frogs.

On that note, it should please our fervent Pony haters that SMU is about to go through a meat-grinder of an October...relatively speaking. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose the next five:

Oct. 03 - @ TCU

Oct. 10 - EAST CAROLINA

Oct. 17 - NAVY

Oct. 24 - @ Houston

Oct. 31 - @ Tulsa

That's as tough a mid-major slate as you'll see in a stretch. Good luck, June

Let's hope you don't get called a douche on the TCU forum because you chose to wear UNT gear!

In that case wouldn't be like a badge of honor!

I will be with a bunch of family, they wont have any of that. They are big donors at TCU.

I hadn't thought of it until this post.

I hate to go to an NT game and see someone wearing something from a school not even on the field. If you go to a TCU game I think one should have the respect to wear TCU (or SMU) colors, or just wear something neutral.

I see guys at our games wearing stuff from Texas or OU. Bad form. In my humble opinion.

You know, I have a granddaughter who is a student at TCU but I can't bring myselft to root for TCU until they agree to schedule us home and home. Then I'll be for whomever else they play.

I really don't think that they'll need my support tomorrow.

I'll be there in a USC jersey, Texas hat, Cowboys sweatpants, Notre Dame socks and OU wrap-around shades. If my picture shows up on the internet, I'll sue the school.

You're not a douche if you actually hold a degree from there. If, on the other hand, you wear a school's colors to a game in an attempt to show your allegiance to a school with which your only tie is they they are winning and you desperately need a win, any win, in yor life the yes you are a douche.

Nor mine, even though the mother of my wonderful grandson is a TCU graduate. My only interest in that game tomorrow is that it might represent another loss for SMU.....hopefully a big one.

I suppose that I should attend at least one TCU game since my daughter-in-law once came to a North Texas game. She was standing over by FFR when the "incident" broke out over tortillas and him being escorted out of the stands by the security staff. I suggested that she stand over by me to get her away from the potential riot that was brewing amongst NT fans who thought FFR was being treated unfairly. Right after that I shouted "We're getting out-coached"...........she hasn't been back since.

Speaking of the coach (RF) that you are referencing with your incident that you were correct about, remember when that said coach was also involved in a fistfight with another coach at halftime of one of our games in their last year here? Well, apparently, our old head coach, DD, must be a magnet for this kind of stuff. Now that he is on the staff as the OC at New Mexico, the new head coach there, Locksley, i believe is his name, has now been outed for punching one of the position coaches during an argument in Albuquerque. What are the chances that DD could be a part of two staffs in three years where the coaches are PUNCHING each other because of disagreements--not players, the freaking COACHES!! I hope Dickey has taken up self-defense classes--he's gonna need it.

Was DD on the Raiders staff too?

I have no allegiances in this game.

Pro/Con time!

Pro Smu:

I like June Jones' offense

I like the underdog

Back when they weren't a rival (when I was in HS) I wanted SMU to return to relevance just cuz.

I like their throwback look.

Con SMU:

Bunch a stuck up mutha .....

They have a pretty awesome stadium and I am jealous.

Buncha stuck up mutha ....

"Rival" that was too above us to let us play them for a while.

Buncha stuck up mutha....

Pro TCU:

They are a BCS buster.

Texas in their name -which means they are more likable.

Christian in their name -which is more inclusive than Methodist (and even more than SOUTHERN methodist)

Purple is cool

Con TCU:

They have a pretty awesome stadium and I am jealous.

I know two dudes that go their and they are both Douchers of the highest caliber.

Buncha private school stuck up mutha ....

I am starting not to like Ft Worth -and they are in FW so I am starting not to like them.

They are scared of getting their asses whooped by the Mean Green*

*not a guarantee

So. Yeah.

Go Horny Toads or whatever lame mascot they have. (its clearly not as awesome as a mean green eagle-- which I hear takes the form of a hawk and kills any upstart potential mascots whilst it frolics on the Denton campus)

Wouldn't it be something if the lowly lobos would somehow nut it up and keep it close against tech! Dickey on the plains again, tech not the tech of 2008, New Mexico grind it up on the ground looking like UNT of old, Locksley on hot seat - not predicting, just saying...

Tend to agree but hey, lets just be happy their butt is in a seat!!! Once we start winning and selling 30.5K tics to each game then we can ask them to kindly remove those outsider hats!!! Agree??!!
