Made it to a couple of ULL/NT hoops games in the past but this will be my first football game down there. Love Lafayette through adult eyes, but not as knowledgeable with the kids in tow...

Will have my 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter.

The early plan is to leave Flower Mound at 5:30 am Sat morn. Get to Lafayette for lunch: ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Hope to get to the game by 3:00 or 3:30 pm, and find the NT tailgate tent. ANYTHING IN LAFAYETTE I NEED TO SHOW MY KIDS BEFORE THE GAME?

After the game, will be driving to Alexandria...using points for the hotel.

Driving home Sunday mid-morning.

Missing anything?

Thanks, and GMG.

Take them to eat at the Blue Dog or Prejeans'. Everyone that I've taken to these 2 places always wants to go back again next time they are in Acadiana.

They have 2 neat historical parks in the city--- Acadian Village and Vermillionville. Also, there is a small lake on campus next to their student union center that has alligators in it-- kids will like that.

If you have time I would highly suggest the Tabasco Factory tour (free) in Avery Island (just outside New Iberia). They also have a "Jungle Gardens" that Tabasco owns, across the street (for a small fee) that the kids would probably enjoy.

But will the alligators like the kids?

6:00 pm, thinking about making the drive down by myself...Don't think the wife and kiddo will join, so might be roadtripping solo...
