Tanner misses game with knee injury

Former Dallas Kimball standout Phillip Tanner missed an opportunity to make one last return to his home state after posting one of the best games of his career with the Blue Raiders against UNT last season.

Tanner was knocked out of MTSU’s win over Memphis on Sept. 12 with a knee injury and missed the Blue Raiders’ win over Maryland last week. Tanner scored six touchdowns in a 52-13 win over the Mean Green last season in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and tied the MTSU record for points in a game at 36. Dwone Hicks also scored 36 points in a game against Louisiana Tech in the 2000 season.

I knew there was a silver lining somewhere. Who knows how bad we would have gotten our asses kicked if Tanner had been healthy......... B)
