I've got everything I need. (TV with built in tuner, power, etc)

I bought an over the air HD antenna, tested it in my house and it works. The plan is to watch ABC (Virginia Tech/Miami starts at 2:30) in the parking lot.

Anyone have experience with rabbit ears at Fouts?

Reception is good enough to get the HD signal?

Thanks!

I have tried a dozen times to have a powered antenna and just the regular rabbit ears and they always fail at Fouts. I haven't tried since this digital transition though..

Negative...I had that same antennae at the house in Flower Mound and it was terrible...Upgraded to the all white square one and it does a really good job...The 12.99 unit was better than the $35 unit...

We've got Dish on the bus....we'll be switching back and forth between the Ark/Ala gama and the Miami/Va Tech game...

Colony Eagle:

I used a ampliefied attena two weeks ago at Fouts and recieved not only the ND/Michigan game in HD, i was also able to tune in the UNT game on channel 21 so we were able to stay in the parking lot under cover from the rain for the first half and watch the game. So i do know that rabbit ears will work. Unfortunatly i have to work in the morning and will not be able to make it out early enough to get the TV up and running tommorrow.

All of the major channels are UHF, which is why you can get them with that antenna. WFAA is the exception as it's VHF and a much weaker signal than the rest.

Dont worry guys, we were back inside after halftime, once the rain let up. Plus we were all season ticket holders, so that was 6 paid for tickets, that we even went up got them all scanned in so that they would count for attendance, then went back to watch the game in the dry climate.

UPDATE

After fooling around with the antenna for a few minutes, we were watching Miami/VTech in glorious HD in the parking lot at Fouts.

.....until some moron (me) accidentally knocked the cigarrette lighter adapter out of the socket and then I couldn't get it to power back up. I think I had a bad adapter.

But the reception was fine.

I'll get some better power next time and be set.
