There are no details yet. ABC News reported at 5:30....about two terror plots that were foiled today---one in Springfield, Illinois (an attempt to blow up a courthouse).....and the most recent one (an attempt to blow up a Dallas skyscraper).

This is breaking news right now......so not many of the details have been released.

Isn't it something that while at the same time three terrorists plots were being stopped this week in this country that the chosen one again was trashing this country before the U.N. and recieved great reviews for it from leaders of terrorist supporting nations?

Apparantly sucking up to the dictators of the world isn't working out so well for the U.S.

Little close to home, great job FBI

maybe not so great. they tracked the moron since march while watching him post terrorist threats. then let him drive a pretend bomb under the building and press send on his cellphone before arresting him. what if he caught on earlier and went into hiding or another city before they found him. should have arrested him at the threat level, not after the act. sorry, it is time to profile these guys and arrest them at the first mention of a threat. send them to the moon.

They do that to build the case. The bomb was deactivated and would not have gone off. Doing it this way eliminates any possibility for an entrapment defense. Without knowing the details, which we are not entitled to know, it sounds like they went to great lengths to build an airtight case. Futhermore, him actually trying to go through with it enhances the charge, instead of a simple threat. I gaurantee they had eyes on him that he couldnt have found even if he tried. He wasnt going anywhere.

FBI better watch out, Eric Holder might indict them for arresting a terrorist, hopefully they are following the new rules of interrogation.

Good job to the FBI on capturing this terrorist.

Dude, give me a break. Where is the politics in this?

Just playing devil's advocate, but the politics may come in if this guy's intentions were discovered through a wire tap, the kind the ACLU have been screaming about.

To answer Lovemg, do you seriously think this guy wasn't under 24 hour surveillance? I promise you that he was. Even the FBI isn't that stupid. :D

I'm sure he was read his rights and already has a lawyer. Can't be too harsh on these people, you know. What the heck, Pelosi may take him into her "safe haven" city of San Francisco since the FBI is probably lying anyhow.

It's called "diplomacy". I know it's been a lost art for the last, I dunno, who knows how long...but the "going-it-alone" strategy does more damage than good. If you truly believe it doesn't (your personal beliefs, not the regurgitation of Glenn Beck's Daily List o' Batshit Craziness), then maybe you're more hopeless than I thought you were.

Like JD said, though, where's the politics in this? The FBI did their job and we, the American Citizen, are safe. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

I don't understand - who was "going it alone"? I'm confused.

Surely you are not talking about Iraq (39 nations involved) or Afghanistan (43 nations, plus NATO).

OK, allow me to rephrase. Replace the words "go it alone" with "our way or the highway". Better?

So I guess we are all in favor of extending the Patriot Act now?

My question is...if we extend it, will the Republicans accuse the Obama Administration of "trampling the Constitution"? Because, if anything in the last 20 years was equivalent to wiping one's ass with our nation's Constitution...it was the The "Patriot" Act.

Great comments, now, are we or are we not for extending the Patriot Act? Didn't really answer that question.

What I see happening is the congress and Pres. Obama eliminating some very minor aspects of the act and then extending it, saying the "major changes" made will ensure constitutional protection. Why would this happen? Easy, now, in their view, the people in power can be trusted, unlike the evil Bush administration. The republicans will, of course, be opposed, because you can't trust a democrat.

The tail-chasing continues.

There are things that need to be done in order to keep the country safe, sometimes they are not good, but the fact of the matter is that they work.

I am not saying I agree with all things patriot act or water boarding or whatever. What I am saying is that the world isn't a nice place in general, and if certain tools are effective in keeping us safe then perhaps we might need to think about ways to use them. I am very happy that our Intelligence community is able to find these guys, that is two in this month alone that we know of... the guy on Sept 11th in NY and this guy. The truth is that we need give our intelligence guys and girls our support and the tools that they need to do their jobs. We don't need to be second guessing them. If they do illegal things then lets prosecute them, or the people that gave the orders, the first time we hear about it not years later when it fits a certain political agenda. We need to let our people do their jobs without looking over their shoulders.

We have an incredible intelligence community, with good people, god tactics, incredible information and one of the hardest jobs I can think of. Congratulations to them for keeping us safe for the past 8 years. Congratulations to them for finding these guys this month and the untold numbers of crazys just like them over the past several years.

Lets hope they can keep it up!
