So I am a big soccer fan and can't wait to see how much success the girls have this year. Went to all of the home games so far and was excited to see all of the new faces working hard along side the returners. However my wife had to use the bathroom during the half and went into the portable bathrooms and was more than upset when she came back. Apparently there is so little room in the stalls that she couldn't even close the bathroom door. Are you serious? A division 1 school that has bathrooms like this? I thought we were trying to be among the best in our conference and project a better image? Why does one of the most successful teams at the university have the worst facilities? They JUST got dugouts for their field. Not only that but once my wife started talking about it when she got back, the people next to us informed us that it is also used for softball. Two teams using a large port a potty...that makes North Texas look terrible. Its embarrassing. I feel bad for both teams and all the fans that have to put up with the bathroom facility. Maybe the continuing success of the soccer team will help get some decent facilities. They deserve it.

We just don't have much money right now. That should change :)

Welcome to za board.

You laugh - but that's what did in the Houston Comets.

Since we are discussing the amount of money that the athletic department has or doesnt have for that matter, I got curious and decided to look up the amount of money it costs for one of those portable bathrooms. The average cost is $80,000. I think the athletic department had plenty of money to build a bathroom or at least put a substantial amount of money towards a nice bathroom.

Thank you glad to be here!

I would be comfortable in assuming that the portable trailer is leased and wasn't purchased. Considering what the soccer team was playing on a couple of years ago and where the softbal team had to play, things are much better and will continue to improve with the student fee coming online in a few years. I'm also certain the Athletic Department would be willing to name the "facilities" after anyone willing to donate the funds.

I wonder if a donation of $300 could get the portapotties named after me?

Just wait until baseball arrives...I am sure they will upgrade the "facilities" at that point....you know...because baseball is such a big revenue generator and all.

I talked to someone on staff a few days ago about the porta potty bathroom and they said it was bought and not leased. Not the best decision the department has made.

Guess they could just walk to the tennis clubhouse.

Facilities look nice but clubhouses would be nice
