We really needed that win. Look at our next 5 games:

- Alabama - SEC, Top 5, Bodybag game

- MTSU - Didn't do terrible against Clemson, pretty well slaughtered Memphis today.

- LaLa - Beat K-State.

- FAU - One of the top Belt teams.

- Troy - Favorite to win the Belt.

As thrilled as we were to start the season 1-0, generally thinking we would be 2-0, it is very possible we could be 1-6 after the next 5 games.

These guys really need to get their heads on straight, because they cannot make as many mistakes as they did tonight and expect to win against these opponents.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad we have someone to tell us that we very well could lose the next 6 games.

Well you do know that being a negative person is one of things you have to be to post on this board.

We could be 1-5, but we won't be, this team has already shown that it has a lot of fight in it. We are going to continue to get better throughout the season

Yeah, I'm really a negative poster. Why don't you go back and read some of my other posts and see how negative I am? Or maybe you could read this post a little more intelligently? My point was not that they are going to lose the next 5 games. My point is that they should have won tonight, and if they want to win in these next 5 games, they will need to cut down on the brain farts. Clear?

Looks like I hit a nerve on that one, lol!! Yes but of course we have to cut down on the stupid mistakes, but every team with a new core of offensive players is going to do that. We will improve on that throughout the year, and no slight to Tune, but it will improve even more once Riley is healthy and is on the field. Myself I am really proud of how the team has improved this season, especially the defense. I would love to be 2-0 but i will take 1-1 with the loss in double OT. Go Mean Green and keep up the good work players and coaches.

Make sure mommy tucks you in and turns on the night light for you. <_<

I didn't think this game was loaded with mistakes... There were certainly some, but the first half was played virtually error free. ...and when you consider the conditions, neither team could have been expected, nor did they, play a slop free clean game.

Losing is frustrating, especially like this, but this team is SO FAR beyond what it was last year. I'm VERY excited about this season. We can hang with anyone in our league. Defense looks downright good, and the offense will keep improving.

...the point that we can be 1-5 is true... ...but we could also be 3-3 6 games into the season as well. Let's keep our chins up.

We won't go 1-6 this team is better than that. All of our conference games are winnable.

I wouldn't guarantee that just yet. Vertical passing game non existant, questionable play calling inside the ten 2 weeks in a row, injured starting QB. On the bright side, this team team had this game won and has shown it is NOT the same team from last year. Could NT go 1-6? Absolutely. However, they will be in every game until the end, and that's all we want at this point.

Not true. We want wins. This is year three and I expect wins, not hope for them. Todge got himself in this mess and I (we I hope) expect him dig himself out of it. Player defections, team chaos, didn't happen by chance.

I don't think it gets any easier, but after the Alabama game, I am not sure it gets much harder. I'm not sure there is a better defensive team in the Belt than Ohio. NT is still a young team and makes far too many mistakes, but that should get better as the season progresses. A good defense and I think NT is developing one, should keep NT in most games.

The only mistakes I consider unforgivable are the stupid unsportsmanlike conduct calls. They seem to come at most inopportune moments (not that there's ever a good moment for one), and those are absolutely things that can be helped. Everyone complained about the number of unsportsmanlike conduct calls against our players while Dickey was coach, and I think that same standard should be applied to Dodge. However, I have confidence that Dodge and Deloach will address these issues.

I think we nip those issues in the bud and there's no reason we can't be competitive in or even win some games this year.
