Yall remember Jim Jeffcoat from the glory days of the 90's Cowboys, well he resides in Plano like the rest of the retired Cowboys and has a son who is ranked the #1 HS football prospect in the country. Jim Jeffcoat was one of the good guys on the team who was family oriented and never got involved in all of the drugs, strippers, parties of Valley Ranch.

He is 6'5 and 235lbs and a DE. His dad is currently the DL coach for the Houston Cougars and is pursuing his son to play for them, who ever get this guy will really luck out.

I don't think you have to worry about UH as much as you have to worry about UT, OU, USC, LSU and any other big time program.

Oh what could have been, when you consider how badly we needed defensive coaching help around here when the senior Jeffcoat took the job down in Houston. Maybe we still have the small chance of junior wanting to stick around and play close to home. Stranger things have happened. Just not to us since the days of Mean Joe. Well, not entirely true since we have a guy named Riley currently running the show here.

There is not a team in college football that wouldn't want Jeffcoat. If he qualifies, he will have his pick of any team in the country. Our chances of getting him are slightly better than winning the lottery.

I would be a bit shocked if he went to Houston...even with Dad coaching there...too many other quality teams after him. The kid is obviouslyb talented and rated as the #1 prospect in thbe Nation in some rankings...U of H would have a pretty tough time with that in competition against other schools, but, as we Mean green faithful know...don't underestimate the lure of a kid playing for their father....just don't think it will happen in this case.

GO MEAN GREEN.

Jack, I know you are not suggesting that we not go after this young man.

However, that being said, unless you go out and buy a ticket, your chances of winning the lottery are 0. I think we should go after this young man. Especially if our defense demonstrates that last week was not a fluke. We could then talk to him about a resurgence of the MEAN GREEN*. Show him the final drawings of the new stadium and talk to him about being "another in a long line" at some BCS school, or making HIS OWN HISTORY here at the new stadium....which could include helping UNT become a BCS program.

* as everyone knows, MEAN GREEN was originally the nickname of the defense.

Don't be so sure he won't give Houston a serious look.

An allusion to Playmaker's initial post.

Exactly. He's not a rapist, attempted murderer, drug trafficker or 9/11 truther/NORML spokesman.

When does the beatification process start? :P
