geezz.

This is a message board about athletics. This forum is specifically about football. Therefore, I would be referring to the unique cultural attitudes regarding athletics that has developed for decades (actually since the days of Dr. Bruce) here at North Texas, that (in case you haven't noticed) is very Atypical of the rest of Texas. THAT is the culture (or maybe I should have said sub-culture) that I want to go away.....or at least significantly transform..... in a positive way of course.

What would be ideal is for the overall UNT culture to stay the same, but for its predictable academia-angst to have no effect upon the AD because the AD 'culture' and its supporters are self-sustaining and are too powerful to be influenced by such foolishness.

I want Todd Dodge to win because I'm excited about this high octane brand of new football I'm finally seeing this year.

Seeing a powerful ground game rack up nearly 300 rushing yards behind an overpowering Spencer Leftwich offensive line... Then seeing a stout Gary DeLoach defense swarming all over the place, bottling up the line of scrimmage and scoring some key turnovers at critical times... And that brilliant delayed handoff on 2nd and 25 that netted us a first down? It's like nothing I've ever seen before.

I'm just excited about this innovative new approach to football at North Texas, and I'm excited to see where it takes us next! :P
