I don't think my boy Mack Cole played and if he did it would have been on special teams. He did make the trip and I know he was happy for the team. Hopefully he'll get some looks against Ohio.

My adopted player, Shavod Atkinson, was credited with one assisted tackle last night but he was a presence on the line. He was in the TV picture on many plays. His first game was a good one!

Congratulations, Shavod.

A.J. Penson was playing behind Tobe Nwigwe and didn't get a lot of playing time but he was in on three tackles. Great job, A.J.!

Not much to say about my guy that everybody doesn't already know. I haven't seen the box score, but obviously Riley Dodge did very well. "Spectacular" would be a little strong, but he was certainly impressive for a RS freshman seeing his first action as a college QB. He underthrew a couple balls, and floated one over Lance Dunbar's head that would have been an almost certain TD. He made one poor decision when he was intercepted in the end zone, taking away another touchdown. But by and large, he looked very good. He usually made the big throws when he had to, and he was outstanding running the ball. He showed poise, throwing the ball away to avoid a sack. He strikes me as a leader, and I would expect him to be a tremendous leader by the time he's an upperclassman. I'm very glad we have the Dodges at North Texas.

Mullet Man Robbie Deheck had 2 outstanding , hard hitting open field tackles on kickoffs. I have to say I love this guy for some reason , he can flat out play. Hardest hitter on ST for sure.

#15 Jamaal "Don't call me Jamel" Jackson

Got to love the poise of the Juco Player...Anybody that saw the game knows he got in the end zone, but as it was, the icing on the cake...

4 Rec. 86 yards... One drop... Welcome to Division 1 football...

Bubble Screen, broke 3 tackles and to the house.... Lightening in the bottle...Saw the same thing in the scrimmage and it translates...

Soft hands, crisp routes and YAC for days.... I'd love to see us get the ball in his hands any way we can....

My adopted unit of the week: Offensive Line....296 rushing yards! Are you kidding me! Hole's 4 yards wide and backs running north and south...

Deheck is really good on special teams but if he's #1 hard hitter on the special teams then Jeremy Phillips is no worse than #1A.

John Weber had a quiet start to his UNT career, not getting a mark on the UNT stat sheet. He played DT for a majority of his plays (thought he was an end???). He did have a QB pressure, but managed to grab the facemask of the QB during that pressure, resulting in a 15 yard penalty. Slow start by the big man, but better days are ahead!
