It's been talked about before but the CUSA has 12 teams currently and is not looking for expansion. ECU and Marshall, especially, do not like the vast majority of CUSA teams being so far west.

The only solution would be to divide the Belt and CUSA geographically with the Mississippi River as pretty much the dividing line. There are some that would object to that because some of the new conference mates would not be up to their standards. Houston might be the biggest naysayer for the west. Don't know how the east would accept FAU, FIU, and USA. The two Floridas are still working on their stadiums and attendance and USA is just launching their program.

It'll make a good hot stove topic though.

I'm glad one team is finally tired of traveling across half the U.S. to play a conference game. If only more would wake up!

Notice how he said nothing about UNT.

He's from East Carolina and wants to be with teams closer to them in geography, much like UNT would not desire to travel there in a conference either.
