Couldn't care less on Phillips, I hope Dodge isn't let go because that means this year's football team stinks.

I really doubt Dodge is gone after this year, but it is possible just not likely.

What a stupid thread...especially before this team's even played a single game this season.

Kind of apples of oranges, comparing the situations of those two coaches.

We should know something about how the season goes for Dodge in less than a week; definitely within two weeks. His future depends on the performance of the team he coaches.

By comparison, Phillips could win the Super Bowl and still get fired.

Who has more to prove this season - Riley Dodge or Tony Romo? Call in now!

Easy Romo, Riley is a Red Shirt Freshman we will expect him to get better with time.

Romo is going into his 4th year starting? Didn't make the playoffs last year, never won a playoff game, I think he needs to do something.

Naw but the reason this thread went up was because both coachs already had two previous seasons under their belt and both had distractions, excuses, and injuries to deal with, how will fans and the media treat these two local coaches in the new season and I personally believe these are their MAKE or BREAK SEASONS....

      Should we add Texas State to the AAC?

      After the bowl, I’m of the opinion that we should have Texas State on the schedule for an annual home and home series, even if we aren’t in a conference with them. It was a great atmosphere. School is close. Large public Texas institution. Fans are fun and also like to party. What is not to like?

      A troll? I have been a fan, including student and alumni, since 1965. Think you've got me mistaken with someone else. 1. Do that every year. 2. Shirt giveaway for last night's retro night. They called it "Retro Night" and did nothing retro other than give out t's to the first 500 fans. How did they market that? Email to alumni and ticket holders three or four days prior. 3. Do people really look at the schedule and decide that frisbee dogs will make them attend? 4. Denton student day. I am assuming you are referencing the 11am tip-off women's game that, by nature of the tip time, limits attendance to those students. Sorry, I see a lack of creativity and effort because they were doing these same things in the mid 70's when I attended as a kid. I am well aware that we don't choose the announcers. Not by point. Do I think they provided them with incorrect information? Nope, that topic was probably never addressed in the production meeting, but someone from the department should be monitoring the broadcast to correct stupid comments like the one mentioned last night and referenced above. He was complimentary of UNT during the broadcast, but he pulled that "fact" out of his ass and someone should be there to correct them.

      Adding Texas State feels like such an easy call to me. It would be good for attendance and give our fans another easy road game.

      The prestige of the PAC is dead, and @NorthTexasWeLove is right: we are entering an era (if we aren't there already lol) where geography is a much bigger priority for non-Power leagues. I hope we do away with this notion that we should share a G conference with California or Washington schools. It's already a whip that we are in one with schools that sit just off the eastern coast. I don't get the idea of if-Tigers-go-we-need-to-follow. I think it makes more sense to be attached to Texas State than Memphis.
