2009 Adopt A Player Thread

The concept is to pick a player from the current roster that you will follow closely throughout the year and then put updates about the player and how he is playing etc on this board as the season transpires.

Although I'd like to go with the new freshman sensation Darius Carey, I'm going to stick with last year's selection, linebacker A.J. Penson. A.J. had a decent season last year and although he's been moved to backup one of our most heralded players, Tobe Nwigwe, I expect him to contribute mightily this season. He'll give it his best.

Same with mine, Kyle Russo, although I take partial blame - I wasn't a very good adoptive parent and rarely posted anything about him.

OOPS! He must of jumped me to Penson while I was scanning the roster. I guess I'll go with another great high school player with potential who we really need to step up who goes by the name of Breece Johnson. We really could use some good hands people this year!

My player last year was Joseph Miller...heart of a lion but succumbed to the injury bug. Graduated and I wish him well.

My heart will always be with the big nasties on the line. Particularly this year, that is where we need to git'er done! My selected player, and one who I think will be a difference-maker, is Shavod Atkinson. Haven't met the man yet but I think he has the qualities we need.

Why not? When you are a MeanGreener you've got to pull for the underdog. Just the way it is. Besides, B. Johnson does have hands and he ended the year last season with a pretty nice game. Ya never know?

I plan to be an absentee parent because of my boozing and whoring, so eulessismore is going to be the Big Brother here. I'll just show up at his games and pretend not to care to the point where after he finally rings up 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, he rains expletives on me and tells me he doesn't need me. I like the anti-hero role.
