Td's First Radio Show To Be From 12-1 On Monday

The first Todd Dodge radio show is Monday August 31......from 12-1 at the Pourhouse. It said in the e-mail that it was moved to then, to accomodate a Monday evening practice.

Not sure if the subsequent radio shows will be in the evening or at lunch. But the first one is a lunch-time event.

I think this is a good deal. Getting there on a weekday night in traffic was a nightmare and now, you can plan on having lunch there and get back with enough time to get some work done. Great to see it at our sponsor the Pourhouse of course!

I was told they would all be at noon at the Pourhouse on Mondays. Seems the NCAA requires that players get one day a week "away from coaches", and that Coach Dodge has decided to let Sunday be the off-day for the players. Not bad...a family friendly day...after a game in many cases and a chance for the players to watch pro football on TV which was hard to do if you were watching film, practicing, etc. on Sundays. So, that would make sense that the Coach Show would be on Monday's at noon to make an evening Monday practice.

I hope there is a good lunch turnout on Mondays. As I do not work in Denton, I'll not be able to attend the show this season. However, I hope there is a BIG turnout for the shows. If you work in denton...take a client with you to the show for a business meal. You might even win over a new Mean Green fan. Could happen....

GO MEAN GREEN!

Think they'll have a replay on the website? I won't ever be able to listen if it's changed to Noon permanently. I'll really miss listening in on my Monday evening drive home.

Unfortunately so according to MeanGreenSports.com ... "The Todd Dodge radio show returns to the airwaves with a new time this season starting August 31 from the Pourhouse in Denton. "

Was really looking forward to making it the show, but just not able to at lunchtime. Hopefully I am the exception and not the rule. Still be listening online @ work. And I know that they can't accomodate everyone so no need for comments from the "peanut gallery." I hope they have a great turnout.

Didn't get to listen. How was the crowd ? What did Coach Dodge have to say ?

Great crowd. I was worried about it being at noon.....but I'd say there were 50-60 people in there.

I love The Pourhouse....the food is good and quite reasonably priced. PLUS IT IS SO MUCH BETTER HAVING THE SHOW in our own room.

SUMG...anything said of note? Any thing mentioned that you might could relay to us "out of Denton working stiffs" who can't make a noon show??? Great to see the crowd at 50-60. I hope it gets even larger as the season wears on...would more than likely mean that the Mean green is winning and folks are jumping aboard!

I listened.

A lot of the same stuff we have been hearing.

This team is a family and are stronger physically and mentally. They expect to win and feel they can overcome adversity rather than succumb to it.

They know they need to prove it.

TD had a line that was like I don't need to remind anyone that we haven't done a lot of winning.

How did we grade out on fall practice?

Any platitudes about overcoming adversity or trying to avoid ill-timed mistakes?

I was there as well, sorry I missed you SUMG - I was pleased at the time change and the crowd. For Dallas folk like myself, getting there on a weeknight at 6:30 pm was near impossible. Anyway the main message I got from Dodge was that they are tired of the "it would be nice if we won" and were going into this season EXPECTING to win. Also made a comment that in years past just "starting" for North Texas was enough and that he wanted players like Royce Hill that weren't satisfied just starting but wanted to be the best in the Sun Belt conference at their respective position.

He addressed receivers by saying they missed Fitzgerald but that they feel like they have more depth that will allow them to distribute the ball to more players.

I thought his entire attitude was BOLD and refreshing. He came right out and said that this schedule was tailor made with the good number of home games and non-conference opponents. He said he would like to have this type of schedule every year. I thought to myself that Dickey would in a similar situation would have lamented, "we have a long way to go and have to be very, very fortunate to compete with a bowl program like Ball State to have a chance to win in the 4th quarter."

His closing message was: This teams biggest weakness isn't talent anymore. It's attitude and leadership. They need players to step up and to start going into games expecting to win.
