High School: Graduated from Fort Wayne South in 1996 . . . played football for Coach Mark Bailey.

Personal: Son of James Crawford and Marva Crawford . . . born Aug. 16, 1976, in Fort Wayne, Ind. . . . worked in an automotive factory after high school graduation and before joining the Marine Corps in 1999 . . . went to Military Occupational Specialties school and then to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, N.C. . . . received an honorary discharge from the Marine Corps in 2003 . . . enrolled at Ball State in the summer of 2004, but returned home in the fall of 2004 . . . returned to Ball State in the fall of 2006 . . . earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2008 from Ball State . . . one brother and one sister . . . full name is Brandon Lamont Crawford.

Yeah, Crawford is a really neat story. He was a good student and had accepted a scholarship to play Division 2 football out of high school. But after a football game his senior year, was involved in a wrong place at the wrong time situation, in which the car he had been picked up in (by his friends) after the game had been stolen. Crawford served his time, became a Marine and after serving our country enrolled in Ball State. He is one of our better players and the heart and soul and leader of the team. Not to mention he could be the father of the freshman class :)

      Army is a good team

      You seem to have a lot of conviction when you say that. Have you seen this group play? Have you seen the coaching? Have you seen how we keep beating ourselves? Like I mentioned in another post, we are not a team to look at a schedule and pencil in wins. We’re not that good. Army has beaten bottom half programs they’ve faced. They beat another one yesterday.

      McGill scored in the 2nd Quarter.

      I’ve thought a lot about how different the game would have been had that not happened. We’re all pissed that we couldn’t score there, but we really did. Add to that the PI call and the fumble that was called an incomplete pass and it’s actually kind of shocking that we still could have won the game. The TD not being given to us is even more frustrating if you saw the TD that Bama was given. Instant replay really sucks sometimes. What’s the point if you can’t get it right?

      McGill scored in the 2nd Quarter.

      It was hard to tell live from my position in the stands if McGill got the touchdown. The replay shown in the stadium wasn't conclusive. Hank asked Morris about it on the postgame radio show. Morris said 'that even on the tape on the sideline' it looked like McGill scored. From watching an ESPN highlight clip after the game it looked like he scored to me. I think you're referring to the fumble that was overturned by replay. It was so close. The DPI call on Nelson earlier in that drive made me absolutely nuts. Chandler's INTs were crushing. There was a mass exodus of people with green shirts on after the first pick. A bubble bursting type of moment.

      McGill scored in the 2nd Quarter.

      It was a touchdown. I'm also flabbergasted at how it wasn't overturned. That said, we failed to execute where we had control. Morris can't throw into coverage like on the first pic and can't throw that 2nd interception with Sides wide freaking open in the flat. There were other near pics during the game. Not sure what Morris was doing but his decision making was off all game.
