Very excited he is back, it isn't going to be long until he takes over as the starting catcher. Taylor is a good player but Pudge is a hall o' famer and is hitting at a much better clip than Taylor. I haven't seen him play much recently but if his arm is even 75% of what it used to be then we are in a good way defensively too I think.

My only question, and it is perhaps Good old Days Syndrome or naivete, but what are the odds of him finishing up here with the Rangers? That would be something special if he could finish his career where he started.

I think this is a great move. He is one of the greatest and ost beloved Rangers of all time, and a top 2 or 3 catcher in the game's history. It cost us nothing to bring him back, and he knows his role is to be the back up catcher and to mentor our young catchers. Great move all around.
