A Big Thank You To Harry

First of all, thank you for creating this board where we can all get together and talk NT football with others who are passionate.

Second, thank you, thank you, thank you for shutting down the pit that was "Non-UNT sports"

Has the blog-media picked up the story of the Non-UNT Sports closure yet? I'd like to know what they have to say...

I for one will miss it! Non-sports was informative and provoking at times, sorry to hear there were those that could not handle it. It had a variety of subjects, and it is a reflection of the times, including the pi$$ing contests. I think people's skins get thinner on the bottom of the economic cycle, and maybe they need a better sense of humor.

I presume I never saw the guy that was going around twisting arms making people read posts/threads in the "Non-UNT sports"

I had two really interesting threads that I had started....

Brooks and Dunn calling it quits and DCTA proposed bridge over Loop 288......

So help me if the Rangers make it into first place or get a wild card berth I will be spitting nails....

You could do like UNTFlyer had been doing, and posting DCTA news on the UNT News Forum. I just viewed that topic on your profile; it was still there, so maybe you could just copy and paste the text of it there. I like to stay up on rail related news.

As for "other" sports, I bet someone gets that figured out soon...

I, too, will miss the back and forth on the Non-Sports forum. Since we don't have a baseball program at UNT, and since the Ranger's first name includes part of our school's name, I believe the Rangers should be given adopted team status and the first and second place Ranger threads should be posted on the other UNT sports forum?

thoughts?

(yes, I dare to ask that question again)

I'm waiting for takeaknee.net to pick up this story and chime in with a HSO.

And so it begins.....

Yesterday, in an obscure corner of the Internet, an insignificant little place really, a small piece of freedom was snuffed out. Freedom to read or not to read, freedom to respond or not to response, freedom to agree or not agree, freedom to laugh or get angry (but only for a little while), freedom to express, freedom to challenge or to be challenged, freedom to share, learn and grow. Sad really, but this is how it starts....a little bit at a time.

so it was intentional? If so, well played!

It wasn't intentional. Read the part of the post Rick highlighted. He's saying he agrees with it.

Nobody was forced to go into that forum.

Nobody was forced to click on a thread.

Nobody was forced to read the threads.

Nobody was forced to respond to the threads.

I can't begin to express how much we all owe the folks who work hard to bring this site to us, because it is a debt those of us who love UNT and the Mean Green can never really repay.

..but I don't agree with the removal of this forum and there are alternatives to the solution implemented that don't ruin something that many folks really enjoyed.
